PROJECT FINISHED. ✅ Webtool Three steps to a heat pump. ⬇ Get convinced to invest in renewable heating sources.
Because of the ongoing energy transition, society is being pushed to invest in renewable energy sources in all types of buildings. For energy systems at home, one of the most interesting investments concerns the installation of a heat pump. Yet, the costs of this technology are quite high and hence people are hesitant to make this choice.
As there is no time to waste in the shift to renewable energy supplies, the CORE-team has tried to tackle this hesitation in the choice for heat pumps. We have developed an online, freely accessible webtool that sets out the different types of heat pumps that are suitable for your home. In only three steps, the tool generates the potential savings of doing the investment and thus contributing to the green energy transition. With these results you will gain more insights in why you should do the investment.
Here's how it works:
Visit our website: https://www.thinkcore.be/nl/webtool-3-stappen-naar-een-warmtepomp and click on the green button to go to the tool.
Step 1️⃣: Input some basic data about your house. 🏚
Step 2️⃣: Provide us with information about your current energy source. 📝
Step 3️⃣: Fill in your yearly consumption based on which energy source is installed. ⚡
By following these simple steps, the tool will generate a clear overview of the results in a graph and a downloadable PDF-file. The results give insight in the potential CO2-, energy and cost savings the different types of heat pumps can achieve in comparison to your current situation. 📊
As previously mentioned, every Monday we will highlight a sustainable and cooperative initiative under the motto "Make Monday Green Again." There are many sustainable and cooperative initiatives in the Leuven area that are worth promoting, and CORE wants to use its position to raise awareness about these initiatives. Our third partner is vzw de Ruimtevaart:
Every day, the Energy Savers of De RuimteVaart visit vulnerable people at their homes. Whether rain or shine -- they travel by bike through Leuven & Herent and provide customized advice to encourage people to consume less energy and save on their energy bills.
The Energy Savers team makes an appointment to visit your home by phone or email. First, they review your energy bill together: are you receiving all the benefits you are entitled to? Do you have the cheapest supplier? Then, they take a tour around your home and provide tips on how to save energy. They also check the safety of old appliances. Afterward, they install our free energy-saving materials such as energy-saving light bulbs, radiator foil, water-saving showerheads, draft strips, etc.
Together, they want to ensure that everyone can participate in a world where consciously managing energy consumption is becoming increasingly important.
The expert advice and materials provided by vzw de Ruimtevaart are free of charge for people who have a social tariff, increased reimbursement, customers of the OCMW, people with a budget meter, tenants of social housing... and this is for residents of Greater Leuven (Leuven, Wilsele, Kessel-Lo, Wijgmaal, Heverlee) and Herent.
*Since yesterday was Labor Day in Belgium, we direct our message to the residents of Hawaii where it is still Monday.
As previously mentioned, we will highlight a sustainable and cooperative initiative every Monday under the motto "Make Monday Green Again." There are many sustainable and cooperative initiatives in the Leuven area that are worth promoting, and CORE wants to use its position to raise awareness about these initiatives. Our second partner is Empty4U:
Empty4U, clearing out households in a sustainable way. We have a passion for transforming cluttered spaces into clean and open spaces. Additionally, we move away from the typical "container in front of the door and everything in it" approach. Those times are, according to us, over. We focus as much as possible on recycling and recovering materials and furniture. Things that would otherwise end up in landfills, we do everything we can to give them a second life.
We are optimists and constantly looking for new and better ways to offer furniture or materials a sustainable future. This ranges from donating to charities, helping those who are struggling, as well as restoring furniture that can last for years to come. Our vision is to save the world some waste by mainly focusing on sustainable use.
Our mission summed up briefly: Your concerns, our passion. Professional, efficient, and, above all, as sustainable as possible. A familiar profession in a new and sustainable guise.
Starting today, CORE will highlight a sustainable and cooperative initiative every Monday under the motto "Make Monday Green Again". There are many sustainable and cooperative initiatives in the Leuven area that are worth promoting, and CORE wants to use their position to raise awareness about these initiatives. Our first partner is Bin Your Butts Leuven:
Did you know that cigarette butts are not biodegradable and release heavy metals into the environment? Support the local initiative and let's create a greener and healthier place for all of us.
4.5 trillion cigarette butts are improperly disposed of annually, making them the most littered item on earth. Cigarette butts contain about 4,000 chemicals, including toxic heavy metals and carcinogenic compounds. It can take up to 10 years for a cigarette butt to decompose, as the filter is made of plastic (acetate-cellulose).
Bin Your Butts' mission is to increase public awareness about the harmful impact of to***co waste on the ecosystem, promote responsible disposal of cigarette butts, and foster environmental citizenship among the youth through education and community engagement.
Their efforts contribute to the targets of the European Green New Deal and Leuven 2030 by making our city more beautiful, climate-neutral, and sustainable, as well as supporting the European Commission's directive of creating a to***co-free generation in Europe by 2040.

The students from 6 WEWI and 6 MTWE at HDC Leuven recently participated in our educational workshops on "Energy Bikes" and "Blue Heat"📚🌊 🚵
The aim of the "energy bikes" workshop is to give an idea of how much "energy" it takes to generate one kWh of electricity by pedaling themselves. With this, CORE wants to create awareness about where our energy comes from and to create knowledge about the fact that it is not so obvious that our lights come on with just a push of a switch. ⚡🎗️
A big thank you for the warm welcome and a big thumbs up to both the teachers and students of HDC Leuven. Your dedication and involvement show that our future is in good hands! 💚

Ons jubileum, CORE 10Y, was een waar succes maar dit was niet mogelijk geweest zonder onze duurzame sponsors!🌳💚
Färm sponsorde alle duurzame goodiebags waarin 4-5 duurzame lokale producten in zaten!
