Back home from a beautiful wine trip to Spain 🇪🇸🍇

📍One of our stops: in Rueda, the home of the famous verdejo grape.

ℹ️ These amazing pre-phylloxera vines are between 120 and 150 years old. Their grapes are used for our lovely and elegant Verdejo Pie Franco wine.

ℹ️ We're visiting a couple of our wineries in Cebreros, Rueda and Ribera del Duero.

Our store will therefore be closed from Tuesday May 3 until Thursday May 5.

We will be open again on Friday!

Tomorrow, Friday 22 (16.30-20.00) & Saturday April 23 (14.00-19.00) is tasting time! We open a wide selection of wines, sherries, sparkling wines, vermouth, brandy and even a unique ice cider.

Wine tasting...
A serious business ➡️ but also a lot of fun! 🥂

Forlong Tintilla, an organic wine made from 100% Tintilla de Rota, planted on a pure Albariza soil. Fermentation takes place in clay pots. No artificial yeasts are used, only the autochthonous yeasts found on the grapes themselves. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Bottled without filtering.

🍇Expressive nose with aromas of red fruit, balsam and Mediterranean herbs like thyme and rosemary. Hints of cinnamon, pepper and camomile with a mineral background (the Albariza).

🍷Lively attack in the mouth, full-bodied, soft, almost sweet tannins, with a saline freshness.

100% tempranillo from Rioja Alta. Vines of approximately 60 years old and 14 months of ageing on new to ca. 3 year old French oak.

🍇 Intense ripe blackberry, violet and herb aromas. Balanced palette of juicy berry and cherry flavours with a robust, mineral background. Long, velvety finish.

🍷 A modern style Rioja, both powerful and elegant. Good value for money.

🍷 Taste-in-store with the winemaker of Soto Manrique. Wonderful garnacha wines from Sierra de Gredos (D.O.P. Cebreros).

Free and no reservation needed.

Murua blanco, fermentado en barrica in new French and American oak barrels. Mix of Viura, MalvasÍa and Garnacha Blanca. The grapes come from 40- to 80-year-old vines.

🍇 At first the honey aroma predominates. After a while the wine opens up with hints of toast, brioche and, after swirling, exotic fruit, pear and white flower aromas.

🍷 Elegant, bold, aromatic wine, with a nice balanced acidity and a long finish.

🏺🌏 In the historic centre of Requena (Comunitat Valenciana) just below the main square, you can find a labyrinth and interesting set of caves. These caves contain vessels that date back to the 13th century and are proof of Requena’s ancestral vocation to the art of cultivating vines and making wine.

🍇 The region of Requena is therefore well known for its unique bobal wines (often from Pre-Phylloxera vines!) in which the balance between fruit and acidity can be really superb. 100% Bobal from Pre-Phylloxera vines of more than 100 years old. A great expression of the unique terroir of Utiel-Requena: balsamic, slightly mineral, very nice structure. Spicy and long finish. Awesome wine!

Tempranillo from vines planted in 1922. So this pre-phylloxera vineyard is located at an altitude of 950 meters and has sand topsoil and clay subsoil. Fresh, nice structure and remarkably nimble for this type of wine.

100% Garnacha from Jumilla. The grapes used for this wine are grown on the high lying slopes of the Sierra del Molar. Only autochthonous yeasts are used for fermentation. Organic wine.
