๐ Alumni Spotlight ๐ Sarah Nour | Class of 2018 |
After graduating from Bahrain School in 2018, Sarah went on to study in Chicago at DePaul University and completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Neuroscience with a concentration on Cognitive and Behavioral, as well as having minors in Biology and applied Psychology in 2022. She then went on to do various internships at private practices.
โI look back on my time at Bahrain School fondly. I cherish the many memories made during my time there, including the friendships I have created and still hold on to today. I can also thank Bahrain School for my lifelong love of psychology as I first discovered the subject during my time there. I was able to take both AP and IB psychology and it both taught and prepared me for so much.โ
While at Bahrain School, Sarah was Vice-President of her senior class, a part of MUN, the Educators Rising Club, and a proud member of the National Honor Society.
Sarah is now part of a Psy.D program in clinical Psychology and is hoping to pursue a career in Clinical Neuropsychology!

๐ Alumni Spotlight ๐ Dana Al Awami | Class of 2005 |
Dana graduated from Bahrain School in 2005 and went on to study architecture and design in London. She is now the Founder and Creative Director of her own design firm โDA Architects and Interiorsโ in the United Arab Emirates.
โAs I reflect on my journey from Bahrain School I canโt help but marvel at the role my alma mater has played in shaping the trajectory of my life. Looking back I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the foundation this institution provided me.
The nurturing environment, the dedicated faculty, and the diverse community all played pivotal roles in laying the foundation that became the bedrock upon which I built my career in architecture and designโ
At Bahrain School, Dana learned more than just academics; she learned the value of perseverance, the importance of collaboration, and the power of embracing diversity. The holistic education received at Bahrain School goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It instills in students a passion for learning, a thirst for exploration, and a commitment to excellence that would guide them throughout their professional journey. The diverse student body and dedicated faculty at Bahrain School foster an environment of creativity, collaboration, and cultural understanding, essential qualities in the field of architecture and design.
โArmed with the values and skills imparted by Bahrain School, I embarked on a new chapter of my academic journey, pursuing my architectural degree in the bustling metropolis of London. I navigated the challenges of higher education with confidence and determination. It was the resilience and adaptability instilled in me by Bahrain School that enabled me to thrive in a new environment far from home. Inaugurating my own architecture and interior design firm was the culmination of years of hard work, passion, and unwavering dedication. Guided by the principles instilled in me by Bahrain School โ integrity, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Bahrain School has not just prepared me for the future; it has empowered me to shape it. And for that, I will forever be grateful.โ

Lujane Yacoub, Bahrain School Class of 2023, is now a UN Youth Representative for Bahrain! ๐๐ง๐ญ
Reigning Miss Universe Bahrain 2023 and a member of the Budaiya Hub, (part of the Global Shapers community), she joined the United Nations in New York this week as the Youth representative for Bahrain; other local attendees include Bahraini ministers, for the 2024 United Nations Economic and Social Council Youth Forum; the largest UN gathering of young people working towards the 2030 Agenda.
The theme of the forum will be โYouth shaping sustainable and innovative solutions: Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of crisesโ. The 2024 ECOSOC Youth Forum will provide a platform for young leaders from around the world to engage in dialogue among themselves and with United Nations Member States to share ideas for advancing the youth development agenda at national, regional and global levels.
As a volunteer art teacher, Lujane Yacoub has long been an advocate for childrenโs art education stating, โthe next generation will inherit a world of unprecedented problems such as the long term impact of conflict, displacement, mass food insecurity and climate change. Problem solving for these issues will require creativity and innovation. I believe we need to teach children the importance of finding and developing their own creativity from now. The future will depend on their ability to think outside the boxโ.

๐ Alumni Spotlight ๐ Marwan Lockman | Class of 1994 |
Marwan joined Bahrain School in 1992, transferring in with many other students from St. Christopherโs School, and graduating in 1994. Although he only spent two years here, they were perhaps the most formative, in terms of personal friendships and growth, educational development, and music to him.
โMost of all, I gained the understanding of critical thinking as a tool to project ideas that were far out of the box, a trait that serves me daily in my current role as Lead Architect and Founder of S/L Architects.โ
Designing the multi-international award winning Al Dana Amphitheatre ( ), provided many challenges, and many of the skills and attributes gained at Bahrain School gave him the edge to overcome those challenges.
โThe work of teacher legends such as Ms. Hogan, Ms. Doherty, and Ms. Carr, to name but a few, had a profound effect on myself and many other of my classmates. Some of the best moments of my life were spent within these walls, and as we near almost 30 years(!) since graduating I could not be more grateful and proud to be an Alumni.โ
Happy New Year โจ๐
