This month was the gathering, THE GATHERING, YES. Most of the countries that have the biggest impact on worldwide decisions got together this November to analyse their plans to meet the common goal: keeping the global warming under 1.5C.

Unfortunately however, it has not delivered on a commitment by the world's major emitters to phase down fossil fuels, nor new commitments on climate mitigation.

But the EU will stay the course, notably through the European Green Deal and REPowerEU, because it is essential to keep the ambition of the Paris Agreement within reach.

The centralization of the World Wide Web means big companies owning it and most of its users relying on decisions made by a handful of private companies to act on behalf of people's best interest.

→ That doesn’t sound a lot like 2022 expectations. So, the Web 3.0 was coined, by the co-founder of Ethereum to close that owning gap. It uses blockchains, cryptocurrencies and NFT’s to give power to the users.

“REDD+ is a framework created by the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) to guide activities in the forest sector that reduces emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, as well as the sustainable management of forests and the conservation and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries”.

It also provides the complete methodological and financing guidance for the implementation of REDD+ activities. REDD+ is also recognized in the Paris Agreement, as an integral element to fulfill its purpose.🌳

Good news: The outbreaks stopped by the power of nature, rain, and also, lots and lots of brave firemen and women who fought against the fires fearlessly 👏🏻

🗣 At the moment, and for the past few years there are two bills stuck in the parliament to protect these territories.

👉🏻The key to wetlands is water, the cycles of flooding and drought that they have and what is being asked in both bills is to adapt the human activities to this natural regime instead of adapting the ecosystem to human activity, like it’s been happening. The good management would not only favor the conservation of biodiversity but also the quality of the production. Not to mention, lower and
balancing CO2 emissions 👣.

A new report published by Nature Astronomy shows that current research infrastructure in the field of space-and-land-based astronomy has a carbon footprint of nearly 20 million metric tons (around 22 million US tons).

Simultaneously, according to Wired, the IRAP-based study team further found that astronomy infrastructure has an annual carbon footprint of 1.2 million metric tons (about 1.3 million U.S. tons).

Telescope infrastructure has a bigger carbon footprint than all other scientific operations in the field, such as traveling to conferences or utilizing massive computers, according to Sky & Telescope.

Wired reported that NASA's new James Webb Space Telescope will have a carbon footprint of 300,000 metric tons (roughly 330,693 US tons), the equivalent of burning 1,655 railcars worth of coal.
