The museum is very excited to exhibit this striking 1932 Ruxton Model C Sedan, through the courtesy of Richard H. Driehaus Automobile Collection.

The Ruxton was the second production front-wheel-drive automobile, following the Cord L-29 by just two months. Due to production changes and financial challenges, only 97 Ruxtons were ever completed. This Model C was the second-to-last one built, and the very last one sold. As many as 19 Ruxtons remain today.

Ruxtons were known for their "gradient" paint schemes designed by architect and illustrator Joseph Urban. Custom fine silk and cloth interiors were purchased from F. Schumacher and Co. of New York City. The low slung bodies were designed by stylist Joseph Ledwinka and built by by the Edward G. Budd Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia. Woodlite brand headlights were a standard feature and accentuated the Art Deco body lines.

1927, Windhoff 750 | Germany 🇩🇪

The motorcycle is displayed at the «Motorworld by V. Sheyanov» Motorcycle Museum.

In 1927, Hans Windhoff and Josef Dauben created a motorcycle that still looks modern today. It was the Windhoff 750 with an inline 4-cylinder OHC 748 cc engine. This machine had a mass of 185 kg and could achieve a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The front fork of the Windhoff motorcycle was a leading link fork, rather complex in its design, and two short quarter-elliptic springs were used as elastic elements. The manual drum-type brake was installed in the front wheel fl**ge. A 3-speed manually-switched gear box with the multiple-disc clutch, the kick-starter and the transmission brake controlled by a foot pedal were directly affixed to the engine. The engine was also oil cooled with absolutely no external oil lines. An oil cooled motorcycle had only once before been brought to production but never with this level of sophistication.

Brough Superior Austin 4 | Great Britain 🇬🇧, 1932.

First introduced in 1931 at the Olympia Motorcycle Show, the Brough Superior Austin Four created a sensation. In the 1932 catalogue, the motorbike was called the ‘Straight Four’ but became known as the Brough Superior Austin Four, or BS4, or ‘Three Wheel Brough’. The motorbike was powered by a modified Austin 7 car engine, with PTO drive to the two rear wheels.

The standard Austin Four engine was a 747cc water-cooled inline four and was mated to a 3-speed gearbox with no synchronisers. The only thing George Braff wanted to change in the production heart was the installation of a lightweight ‘sport’ cylinder head and an increase in displacement to 800cc. George was a great wrangler and when he said that his modifications greatly increased the power of the engine, he never specified by how much.

From 1932 to 1934 only 10 examples of the Three Wheel Braves were produced, and one of them is now defunct, with only 9 surviving. Nevertheless, anyone can see one first-class Brough Superior Austin Four in the motorbike museum ‘Motomir Vyacheslav Sheyanov’.
