Here is a 16-year-old patient of ours from Hope Town, Abaco who recently had her braces removed after having two (2) bicuspids extracted to correct severe upper arch crowding.

Today Samara, who just got recognized as a stellar member of the Sandals Royal Bahamian staff, got her upper braces off! She started with lots of upper incisor protrusion, but after receiving special orthodontic wires her teeth look so good they almost seem unreal!

19 year old male treated for bimaxillary crowding and maxillary constriction using a Haas Rapid Palatal Expander. Patient had adjustments at 12 week intervals due to studies abroad. Treatment lasted two years.

Does your child have a dental cross-bite? We correct dental cross-bites to protect your children from damage to the growth and health of their teeth and jaws. It is recommended that children be first seen by an orthodontist at the age of 7 to evaluate for dental abnormalities like dental cross-bites.

Some teeth don’t erupt normally or don’t erupt at all. Orthodontists work with oral surgeons and periodontists to facilitate access to these unerupted teeth to allow for them to be brought into their proper places in the mouth for use with chewing and to aid the attractiveness of a patient’s smile. Surgery was performed by Dr. Antoine Clarke at The Bahamas Center for Gum Disease.

Inter-Proximal Reduction (IPR) - Resolving Orthdontic Crowding Without Extractions

This 16 year old from Marsh Harbor, Abaco was initially seen by us while already undergoing orthodontic treatment at another practice. Following clinical evaluation, it was noted that there was a retained maxillary primary left central incisor. A panorex radiograph confirmed the presence of the unerupted maxillary permanent left central incisor, associated with a compound odontoma, positioned at the base of the nasal fossa. Patient was referred to oral surgeon Dr. Munir Rashad and he performed the surgical procedure to remove the primary tooth and the excess teeth associated with the odontoma. During the surgical procedure, Dr. Rashad repositioned the maxillary left central incisor and secured it by splinting it to the adjacent teeth for stabilization and post-operative healing. The tooth also received root canal therapy to prevent root resorption. Following several weeks of healing we placed new orthodontic appliances in the maxillary arch. Here are the photos showing the sequence of events, inclusive of her most recent progress photos.
