I don’t compete I complete.
but lately, i’ve been seeing the beauty in staying.
“stay, and we’ll fix this together.”
“stay, and we will work our way through this mess.”
“stay, and years from now, we’ll look back at this moment and we will realise that some situations and people are worth staying for.”
maybe this time, i’ll stay.🥺❤️
One day, the scattered dots, they will connect. And until that day, I’ll keep tracing across this void and randomness. I’ll keep my heart beating despite the tangled mess blocking my chest.
I’ll keep holding on for better days.
Today, we reach 1k followers🥺❤️
Recently, I also reached another milestone at school. It s not an easy journey ,but I’m glad I am one step closer to where I wanna be at. (I tend to get tired and bored easily and I used to be a ‘follow your heart’ kind of girl)so this really means a lot.🥺❤️
It’s been a year of struggle and finding myself deeper through my words. It’s been a year of over spilling built-up emotions and finding comfort in like-minded people’s souls. It’s been a year of constant questions whether making it to the end is possible. Turns out, it was possible after all.🥺❤️
I can’t thank everyone enough. A like isn’t a grand thing—But managing this page for a year has been, so far, the most rewarding. To know that I’m not alone in my melancholy, to know that others contain the same longings and struggles and wonders and insecurities, to know that we’re all lost souls trying to find home in an impermanent world. To realize that you can find it in little things, in little dreams, in something as simple as words.🥺❤️
I’m really grateful. I feel like over time, I shared fragments of my life to the avid readers here. I hope we all make it. If not, I hope we build another temporary purpose, just like how I was able to build this page.
Thank you🥺❤️
Some nights, I hear a small voice congratulate myself for making it through the day, for winning the silent battles I do not put into display.
My compass is broken. Can the stars be my guide? Maybe the Universe still listens to those who ask for its light.🙂
After plotting my dreams on paper, after all the planning, the organizers—I realized I’m still as lost as ever. After all the 'convincing of having it together's, I realized how instantly things could alter.
Thank you so much❤️
Want to take this time and congratulate Miso Mphasha on her first published book which was recently sponsored by the competition she joined. Blessings on your book.
Hey💕My Book Is Finally Out ‼️
First interview ❤️Hoping to get more interviews 🙏♥️
Miso Mphasha is a 19 year old Motswana poetess who grew up in Selibe Phikwe. She is a first year student at Botswana Accountancy College, pursuing her studies to become a Charted Accountant, at the same time being an 'artist'. We had an opportunity to talk to her.
In her own words, "Authors tell their stories through writing. In most cases, authors write things that happened to them, but not in all cases. My readers will start to see it on a different view side and understand certain ways about the meaning and purpose of life. And I did not write for my readers to feel for me. I just want them to know that they are not alone.
Poetry is art, you get to express whatever you are feeling inside with it. As such, you can vent on your paper with a pen. This, on its own, implies that you will be communicating to your inner being through writing, and trying to voice what you feel inside. All in all, I view writing as a kind of spiritual practice.
My writing kryptonite would be that I cannot write poems in a loud place. I need serenity in order to think straight and be able to express my emotions. I cannot write under pressure. I need time to think clearly. And there is no how one can become a writer if they do not feel emotions strongly. I mean, poetry is art and you get to express what you feel inside.
Pioneers like Charles Dickson, Shakes spear, just to mention a few, were able to bring imaginative characters to life. Their amazing art put blood and bones in them. They really challenged my intellect to certain level and degree. The way they portrayed their talent of writing skills really got me riveted to the transcript and gave me an urge to keep on turning the page of their books until I reached their peak of the story. They put life into their characters.
Poetry was once considered the purview of academia (and still largely is), a game for academics and their theories. Through the 1960’s and beyond, it reached a more popular audience who not only read it but also wrote it—one thinks of Plath, a Bourgeoise, and Sexton, a woman who came to poetry through an adult-education center—and poetry became uprooted from its origins in professional artistic discourse.
It found an audience not among the successful people, typical of the postwar booms, but among the excluded, the subaltern, and the (nominally) insane. And it does have a room for a perspective manifesto to form a content. This is because artists are trying to find ways to make the world a better place, hence creating unity.
I engage in poetry because it is more like therapy, where you get to connect with your inner being, in order to express emotions. Mostly, motivation books like "Think and Grow Rich", by Napoleon Hill, was where I first learned that language has power. The book communicated with me; I read and listened at the same time. I had so many questions about life, but I found so many answers in the transcript. The book put tremendous change in my life. Books are silent voices which roar the loudest. They speak to you. Books can transform you into a version of yourself.
Well, the internet is the best source of research because you get to learn how to use words and how to express yourself. I spent a few days deciding on the book tittle and the pieces of art to include in my book.
Through the internet, I get to learn how different authors use words and I used some of my favorite authors influence, such as Dr Maya Angelou, "Still I Rise" in one of my pieces. If a poem does not have good grammar, incorrect punctuations, no theme, is long, boring and complicated, then clearly it is a poorly written poem. Most poorly written poems have no figures of speech and you cannot see the emotions in them.
However, most well written poems should be catchy, have a unique title, proper usage of figurative of speech, correct punctuations and grammar. A reader should be able to relate and feel the emotions expressed by the author. Now that is what I call a well-written poem.
My spirit animal is a dove. It has a good character, that is well behaved and intriguing, because most readers read books to seek light, hope, peace and serenity. After being fully satisfied and convinced, they will hyperbolise about the book and its content to the next reader, hence the chain links continue leading to the dove.
"SHADES OF LOVE". Explaining my book title... Well, that is the question that I have been waiting for really. According to my own theory, there are eight types of love, which are:
Agape - unconditional love
Eros - romantic love
Philip - Affectionate love
Storge - Farmiliar love
Pragma - Playful love
Mania - Obssesive love.
Love is not just a four lettered word, it is a very strong word that can build and destroy a person. I came up with the tittle trying to show the world that love has many colours and it takes the right person to tint those colours. It is an anthology of twenty one pieces. The selling price is P150.00. My first twenty customers will be getting it at P120 each.
A summery of my book: Once upon a shooting star, a girl made a wish to fall in love. It directed her to the love of her life. The possibilities of the world felt endless. Little did she know that she is a balloon no one cared for, even her friends sabotaged everything that made her happy. She lost everything; she had went through a rough patch, and even nearly got disowned by her parents. She started to write her thoughts in poetry and finally she healed. The storm is over now, she managed to breach the husk. She is now healing broken souls with her art. My pieces fit in poetry category.
Maatla Oreng Tsheole sponsored me to publish the book. Special thanks to her. I published at Showcasing publishers. I am grateful because a lot of people contributed a lot to my book. Talk about Mr Morgan, he edited some of my poems, and my two brothers, my mum and Tshephang were always there, not forgetting Kesego. She also played a good game by motivating me to write. I could not do it without God and Phikwe residents. A star is born in Selibe Phikwe and I am going to be the best selling."

You should know that bullying hurts
It starts with one word you blurt
Mrs dark sports, chubby and worthless ;these are the words they hear
Did you know you are their biggest fear?
Day by day you torment them
It takes so long for their hearts to mend
All they ask for is a true friend
But you make them want to end their life
Each day they wake up in regret
They are sick of playing strong, sick of acting tough
But they know they can make it through
You may have not known, but they always knew
They put on a fake smile
And pretend they okay
Of course your words would offend
But they have picked back again
Someone leaves the crowd and lends them a hand
They learn that it's time to stand
Their smile is no longer fake
Now they have no reason to ache
You see, all they ever needed was a friend
Someone to stand by them when the bullying comes again
Now they free, the insults barely sting;don't you see
The bully is never wanted, unless wanted to leave
The person you bullied now has no need for long sleeves
Your work here is done, not that it should have started
Now who is the one who feels broken - hearted?
Bullying gave you power, that they refused to give
You can't help but wonder "what if"
