TINY THAGAME NCUBE: A Journey of Resilience, Hope, and the Power of Words

Tiny Thagame Ncube is a Motswana who embodies the essence of versatility. As a wife, mother, sister, philanthropist, artist, academic, author, and spiritual being, she wears many hats with grace and dedication. Born in Molepolole with paternal roots in Maun, Tiny's journey has taken her from the heart of Botswana to the United Kingdom, where she currently resides with her family. Her life is a testament to the power of resilience, faith, and the written word.

WATER IN THE CRACKS: A Story of Rebirth

Tiny's debut book, 'Water in the Cracks', is more than just a memoir—it's a powerful narrative of survival, transformation, and renewal. "This is a story not so much about my life but almost certainly my death, which became my rebirth," Tiny explains. The book chronicles her journey through unimaginable challenges, ultimately emerging victorious against all odds. "I was lame, and now I can walk! Literally," she summarizes, encapsulating the essence of her miraculous journey. The book serves as a beacon of hope, determination, and the unyielding will to survive.

A MESSAGE FOR THE YOUTH

Tiny's intended audience for 'Water in the Cracks' is clear—young people, those who are full of hope for a brighter future, and those who may feel hopeless and afraid. She aims to inspire anyone who reads her book, igniting a fire within them to chase their dreams with renewed vigor. Tiny believes that her story will resonate with those who need it most, offering them the strength to overcome their fears and persevere through life's challenges.

FUTURE WORKS; MORE STORIES TO TELL

Tiny's journey as an author is far from over. She has plans to continue sharing her experiences through more books. Her life is rich with transformative moments and miracles that she feels compelled to document. In a future collaboration with her husband, Tiny plans to explore their shared experiences in a new book. Additionally, she envisions writing inspirational children's books, which she intends to co-author with her children, tapping into their creative minds to bring these stories to life.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Reflecting on her journey, Tiny offers profound advice to her younger self and to anyone facing similar challenges. "Character is the foundation of how you will handle not just challenges and obstacles but the existential threat of unknown physical phenomena," she says. For those who have endured similar hardships, she emphasizes the importance of faith. "No one can understand what you went through but God. The strength to go on can never be sufficiently gained from science or people. You need another force. Never give up, no matter how hopeless the situation seems. God always comes through somehow."

A LEGACY OF LEARNING AND WRITING

To young readers and aspiring writers, Tiny's advice is simple yet powerful: "Read, write, learn, re-read, re-write. Never stop." She believes that reading not only enhances knowledge and memory but also improves writing skills and style. For Tiny, the written word is a path to immortality—long after a writer's heart has stopped beating, their words continue to live on.

Tiny Thagame Ncube's story is one of extraordinary resilience, unshakable faith, and the transformative power of the written word. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to find their own strength and keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles they face.

THE HUMBLE BEAST UNAPOLOGETICALLY CONTINUES TO SHINE

Kudzanani Kelebeletse also known as ‘The Humble Beast’ whose pen name is Kuuitz grew up in second capital city of Botswana, Francistown but has roots running as deep as Senete and Sekakangwe.

The Humble Beast started writing at the age of 15 but at the time he was learning to write music. He now presents to the world a book titled, "FROM LOVE LETTERS TO SU***DE NOTES" which was published by the remarkable Poeticblood Publishers in Gaborone, Botswana.

Kudzanani went from writing Earl Simmons’ (DMX) songs and singing along whenever he heard the songs play while reading the lyrics written on his notebook to actually writing his own material in 2006. Doing it for fun until his varsity days, when he got exposed to spoken word poetry through the University of Botswana poetry night sessions. He instantly fell in love with the art so he started writing poetry from thereon. He later realized that music and poetry were not that different which made the transition smooth. He has since compiled poems based on his personal experiences to come up with this anthology.

Currently, the book is P150 and anyone interested in purchasing it can reach out to the author for a copy. The book will be available on online platforms soon.

His advice to upcoming authors reads, "art is a beautiful thing. Always do you and always express yourself unapologetically."
He also stressed that it doesn’t get easy, but always remember that hard work, passion, persistence and faith are the drivers to success.

Poetry😊🔥

WHAT HAPPENED TO US?

What happened to us,
I ask myself constantly.
I feel rejected and unwanted
I feel unattractive and unloved
Like a waif I am cast away
From the arms that used to embrace me.

What really happened to us?
Do you despise me that much?
Why can't I touch you like I used to?
Why do you reject all my advances?
Making up excuses to save yourself
From my filthy notorious hands.

I don't know what happened but pardon me,
Pardon me for being a misery you have to face,
Pardon me for invading your space,
Pardon me for taking your peace,
For crowding your space,
For being a burden.

I know you won't tell me what happened.
What happened to the affection we had,
What happened to your lovely smile?
Though I am curious, I won't pester you.
I won't shoot you with a million questions
I lie there, next to you, lonely
Preoccupied with my thoughts
Feeling unwanted.

Rejection is my fate
I can't fight it. I am powerless
Self doubt stripped me off my power.
My biggest fear is consuming me
I try to smile and be strong for me
But every night I toss and toss
Fighting negative thoughts
A sad song playing on repeat
In my weary heart

Its minutes past 5 now
Lying next to you now
My fears make my heart sink.
I haven't slept a wink
My fragile heart is broken
I feel forsaken.

NEWS: THE COMMUNITY’s YOUNG ORDINARY VILLAGE BOY, BUT A PROSPECT TO THE WORLD
_____________________________________

[ Written & Interviewed by Langelihle Bhule ]

As far as poetry is concerned, who said dreams are only for those who sleep? Katlego Molebatsi is a young Tswana conscious dreamer, who’s raw writing and reciting talent has the ability to shake the whole universe. The community’s ordinary rural dreaming boy, but a prospect to the world. Through poetry he has touched lives beyond home and is setting an example of the possibilities of living dreams.

AWRT: What inspired you to become an author apart from your amazing poetic talent that can be linked to it?
KATLEGO: Growing up I was not always open about my feelings. I never really had a close relationship with my mother who single handedly raised me, as such I could not talk to her about a lot of things. Eventually I started writing about how I felt instead of bottling my feelings. So, basically my inspiration comes from the way I was raised and the way my life has been. Every now and then I often get inspiration from life’s day to day challenges.

AWRT: What is your sole purpose for writing books?
KATLEGO: My work touches, heals and restores broken souls, therefore it is for this reason that I am writing. To help other people, all those who find comfort and healing in my books are the reason i do this daily. Above all it has always been my dream to be an author or to have a book attached to my name. It’s a matter of chasing dreams.

AWRT: What is your personal experience of the
KATLEGO: It has been draining, tiring and jubilant. Draining in the sense that there are a lot of scammers in this field claiming to help people, whereas their aim is to destroy and steal people’s work. It has been tiring because writing needs concentration and takes a lot of time. One has to explore a lot of ideas and try by all means to sync them so that they correspond. The journey has been filled with joy as well. All the win’s collected in the journey are worth it. From having a book published, to delivering the very first book copy to a customer and being nominated for awards which eventually I won.

AWRT: Can you applaud yourself for this choice in a world full of endless choices?
KATLEGO: Never will I ever in a million years regret the choice I made. Writing and poetry are a part of me. An essential part that I would never trade for anything.

AWRT: What effect do you believe your books give to the readers with their lives?
KATLEGO: My books give hope and a new perspective to life. They instill a sense of never giving up and working beyond expectations. My books are a touch of reality, as such they are very relatable.

AWRT: How many books have you written so far and which one is your most loved?
KATLEGO: I have two books, the first one dubbed “The Life of a Troubled Teenager” was published in 2020. The book won an award at the Annual African Authors Honoree Awards 2021 which were hosted in South Africa.
My second book dubbed “DRY AND GREENER PASTURES... LOVE STILL REIGNS” is an impressive piece of work showing maturity from my previous book.

It was published mid-2021 and it is the most loved as it sells faster than the first one. It is also nominated for the MULHER FORTE LITERATURE AWARDS. Both of my books are poetry anthologies. I’m currently working on my third book which is going to be a novel.
