We find ourselves in another lockdown following a spike of cases in schools. Make sure that you take the necessary precautions to keep you and your loved ones safe. Please seek professional help if you feel overwhelmed or currently experience heightened levels of stress.

Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Countries such as China, USA, and Italy have been the most hit. Just yesterday, three cases were reported in Botswana. All our neighboring countries have been infected with South Africa being the most hit in the continent with more than 1 300 reported cases. This morning, the president of Botswana declared a state emergency and announced that there will be extreme social distancing from the 2nd of April 2020. We urge you all to take care of your mental health and take all the necessary health precautions.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy. It is an evidence-based therapy that enables people to heal from symptoms that are the result of psychological trauma.

The training has been an initiative from a coalition of Stepping Stones International (SSI), the University of Botswana, private psychologists from the Netherlands, and the Dutch Humanitarian Assistance Program who has co-funded the training. SSI addressed the urgent need for trained professionals in the field of trauma treatment.
