The Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport & Culture informs the youth that a CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for the Youth Development Fund (YDF) for the financial year 2024/25 will be open for submissions at all Districts and Sub-Districts effective Wednesday 7th August 2024 until Friday 20th September 2024 at 1500hrs.

The threshold for YDF financing remains at P100 000.00 for individuals and P450 000.00 for youth industries/co-operatives. Funding is in the form of a 50% grant and 50% interest free loan. Funding will be targeted towards sustainable startups and existing self-financed youth businesses with evidence of prudent financial records and attractive prospects for expansion and job creation.

Youth entrepreneurs are encouraged to complete application forms and comply with existing programme guidelines. Application forms may be obtained at the nearest MYSC office, or by request from [email protected].

No applications will be accepted beyond the deadline date and time. Applications that do not comply with the requirements will not be processed at appraisal stage and will immediately be disqualified.

PLACEMENT OF 2023 FORM FOUR STUDENTS

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development informs the public that the selection process for 2023 Form Four placement is complete. All the 2023 Form Fours are expected to report to their respective schools on Tuesday 28th February 2023. Students admitted as boarders will report on Monday 27th February 2023.

Information on all students’ placement will be available in all Secondary Schools and Regional Education Offices countrywide.

The Ministry has introduced a Short Messaging Services [SMS] notification, accessible from all the three local Mobile network service providers.

To access student placement via SMS, students are advised to compose the message as follows;
Step 1:- Form4 (space) Centre Number (space) Candidate Number (space) Candidate Surname, e.g Form4 JC0101 0005 Malepa
Step 2: - Send your message to this number 16688
Step 3: - You will then receive information about your placement.

Please note that the criterion used for placement was based on catchment areas and the need to balance school enrolments. Therefore, all students’ transfers will be done at Schools and Regional level.

2022 BRIGADES AND TECHNICAL COLLEGES RESULTS RELEASED

ADJUSTMENT OF ALLOWANCES FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE NATIONAL INTERSHIP PROGRAMME, BOTSWANA NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAMME AND THE GRADUATE VOLUNTEER SCHEME.

This communique serves to inform the general public of the adjustments that have been made to the living allowances for National Internship programme, Botswana National Service Programme and the graduate volunteer scheme participants.
The adjustments are as follows;

(a) National Internship allowance (NIP) allowance will be increased from P1420.00 to P2000.00

(b) Botswana National Service Programme (BNSP) allowance will be increase from P700.00 to P1000.00

(c) Graduate Volunteer Scheme (GVS) allowance will be increased from P600.00 to P1000.00

The public and the affected parties are hereby informed that these adjustments are effective 1st November 2022.
