Over the weekend we had our 2nd session on Social Media 4 campaigns. Many women are subjected to sexist, racist, body shaming, scamming, sexting and other forms of abuse on social media platforms. This not only undermines their credibility but also affects their mental and emotional wellbeing.
But we must not let these attacks silence us or prevent us from fulfilling our roles as leaders in our communities. Instead, we must take action to protect ourselves and promote safe and respectful online spaces. We need to be aware of tools we can use and have knowledge on detecting unsafe content and not contributing to them.
The session focused more on numbers to show trends in Botswana for social media users to give a clear perspective to women on why they need to build their digital footprints and manage them in order to capture the masses towards 2024.
We are building a movement of women and youth who will stand together and build safe online campaigns towards 2024 elections.

Celebrating Girls in ICT day!
This day serves as a reminder of the importance of empowering young women and girls to pursue careers in the field of Information and Communication Technology.
As we continue to progress in the digital age, it is crucial that we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in and benefit from this transformation. However, we know that women and girls are often underrepresented in this field, which is why events like Girls in ICT Day are so important.
Today, lets celebrate the amazing work that women and girls are doing in the ICT field, and lets encourage even more young women to pursue careers in this area. By empowering more women to become leaders in the tech industry, we can create a more diverse, inclusive, and innovative world.
Thank you to all the trailblazing women who have paved the way, and to all the young girls who will continue to make their mark on the world of Technology.
Over the weekend we had our first session of ”Social Media for Campaigns “ project in Maun. Women active in politics, women aspiring to go into politics and women looking for ways they can have their voices heard in governance shared a room a discussed the political landscape of Botswana.
