Belize Ship Handlers Empowering Women 💪

Miss Sherlene Humphreys, a driven and young Belizean, is currently making waves in her role. Her journey is truly inspiring. Born in Sandhill Village to a family of three siblings, she was raised in Burrell Boom Village, Belize. Miss Humphreys discovered her passion for softball at a young age, leading her to join the Beacon Softball Club in 2019.

Transitioning into the business world as a dedicated worker, Miss Humphreys also embraced the role of a single mother to her son. In November 2019, she embarked on a new chapter by joining Belize Ship Handlers as the Shipping Clerk for Tropical Shipping. Over the years at Belize Ship Handlers, Sherlene chose to further her education, currently pursuing a degree in Business Management at Westly Junior College. Scheduled to graduate with honors in June, Ms. Humphreys has seamlessly balanced work and education, showcasing exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment.

For the first time in more than a decade, all the berths at the Port of Palm Beach are FULLY occupied.

Today, we achieved a total tonnage of 119,081 gross registered tons (GRT) thanks to the help of 15 vessels including:

- Five Tropical Shipping container ships
- Three tugboats
- Two barges
- One yacht transport ship
- One general cargo ship
- One mega yacht
- Margaritaville at Sea cruise ship

AND one Vietnam-era patrol boat.

Our team continues to focus on optimizing berths to enhance efficiency and boost revenue.
