Thanks to all of you, I have learned more about the history of Korea. It is an undisputed fact among South Koreans that the tiger represents Korea. Tigers have been a part of our childhood fairytales, appearing as a fearsome yet friendly animal. They are also ingrained in our proverbs. South Korea is a nation passionate about soccer, and the tiger is present on the national team's uniform. Recently, a promotional video created by the Korea Tourism Organization featuring the song "The Tiger is Coming Down" gained significant popularity.

The image of a tiger on the Korean Peninsula, created in 1908 as an expression of resistance against Japanese occupation, became a source of pride for our people. In 1988, the mascot for the Seoul Olympics was also a tiger.

The reason South Korea is so attached to the tiger lies in our history of enduring constant struggles against China and Japan. Despite facing adversity, we did not want to appear weak. Thus, the tiger became a symbol of our small yet resilient nation, reflecting our strong spirit that has endured throughout our 5,000-year history. In choosing the tiger, we aimed to show that despite being a nation constantly besieged, we are not willing to be perceived as weak like rabbits or squirrels. While it is regrettable that the tiger has become a symbol of our country due to a history of hardships, it still proudly showcases the strength of South Korea. Thank you all for enlightening me with these facts.
