The Commission on Accreditation (COA) of the Canadian Association for Social Work Education-Association Canadienne pour la formation en travail social (CASWE-ACFTS) passed the following motions at its January 2023 meeting:

That the COA grant an eight-year re-accreditation to the BSW program at the University of the Fraser Valley, from February 1, 2023 to January 31, 2031. A Self-Study Report will be due on April 1, 2030.

That the COA grant an eight-year re-accreditation to the MSW program at the University of the Fraser Valley, from February 1, 2023 to January 31, 2031. A Self-Study Report will be due on April 1, 2030.

The decision was based on the School’s Self-Study Report, Readers’ Reports presented by two COA members, a site visit and Site Visit Report, as well as a full consideration of all this information and discussion at the Commission on Accreditation meeting. The granting of Re-Accreditation for an eight-year period means the program has met all Accreditation Standards. It is the maximum length of accreditation cycle allowed by the Procedures for Accreditation.
