๐Important Update on BCโs Residential Tenancy Act
The BC Government has made adjustments to two recent changes to the Residential Tenancy Act.
Previously, Bill 14, effective July 18, 2024, extended the eviction notice for personal or caretaker use from two months to four months and increased the dispute period from 15 days to 30 days.
Now, the government has revised these changes: the notice period for personal use is reduced to three months, and the dispute period is shortened to 21 days when a landlord serves notice on behalf of a buyer.
These updated regulations will be implemented on August 21, 2024!
