Hello everyone. I have a new product release. We’ve been working hard over the past months to come up with a new material to enhance the durability and appearance of my products. Finally I am happy with the results and ready to offer this new material to the market. What is it? I’m going to call it Resilient-CF (carbon fiber). The new material is a clear flexible impact resistant resin infused into the carbon fiber fabric. The Resilient-cf parts will be all clear carbon fiber with no gel coat or clear coat- essentially what some people call dry carbon. Many of you know in the past I have been very hesitant to produce carbon fiber splitters because of the higher costs and potential for damage. With this new product I feel comfortable we will not be throwing a lot of carbon fiber in the trash after an oops! The videos were an attempt to damage the new parts. The pendulum is a 38 lb steel bar pulled back six feet from the part before release. The hammer pretty well speaks for itself, I’m hitting it hard on a steel table. Not sure what the impact forces are but damage was minor surface scuffing at the point of impact which disappeared with a few seconds of buffing. At the moment I have three splitter models available, 987.1 Boxster, 996 Turbo/C4S and the 996 GT3. These are all the three piece sectionals which have been selling in the past.
