As one of India's most decorated wrestlers, his presence and words inspired our young athletes. Bajrang's leadership extends beyond the mat, standing in solidarity with India's women wrestlers against the wrestling federation. Miri Piri Wrestling Club visiting the .exhibition at The Reach Gallery in Abbotsford. It is incredible to see the rich history of the South Asian community here in Abbotsford. It was equally amazing to see our alumni, singlet and medal on display from the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The exhibition will be on display until May 2024. If you haven't already, please drop by and take in all the history!
Olympic Champion in the house! Thank you to 2016 Olympic Games Gold medallist Erica Wiebe for coming by and visiting our team. Not only did Erica reach the pinnacle of amateur sport, she is a champion on and off the mat! Always carrying herself with integrity and standing for safe sport in Canada regardless of who you are. These values align with our teams vision and it was an honor having her share the mat with our team for practice.
A great week of training in Minneapolis! 2023 BC Champions and National medallists Gurshar Johal and Omrao Dhadda had the opportunity to accompany Miri Piri alumni and Gopher RTC member Jasmit on a training camp in Minnesota. They had the privilege to be training under USA Wrestling legend Troy Steiner and sharing the mat with 2020 Olympic Champion and rising WWE superstar Gable Steveson.
2023 BCWA Summer Camp with Olympian Travis Cross, Olympic Champion Carol Huynh and Junior World Champion Erfan Amiri!
Our athletes had the chance to learn from 2 of the best wrestlers to ever come out of BC/Canada, and learn from a World Champion from Iran! Lots of fun and a great experience.
Big thank you to Travis, Carol, Erfan and the rest of the coaching staff, as well as Elphinstone Secondary School for hosting us.
Oh Canada! We had a blast today celebrating Canada Day at the annual parade in Abbotsford. It was our team's first time entering into the parade and it was an awesome experience for everyone involved.
We would like to thank our volunteers who made everything happen today. From organizing the logistics and handing out ice cold water and gatorade to all the spectators! We would also like to give a special thanks to Miri Piri alumni, for sponsoring our team with brand new t shirts and banner custom made for this event. Thank you! We hope to see you guys again next year π¨π¦π

Miri Piri Wrestlers with Olympic Champion, David Taylor III
Thank you to and putting on an amazing wrestling camp in Washington!
David Taylor showed some of the techniques he used to become an Olympic Champion. He also went over his mindset, the sacrifices he made and the adversity he faced which eventually led him to become an NCAA champion, World Champion and Olympic Champion.

It was an outstanding performance by Dominic today as he won his first national title! This is Dominic's second medal on the weekend as he finished with a silver on Friday. Prithvi Mann also battled hard winning 4 matches but lost a close match and had to settle for 4th place. We would like to congratulate our entire team including all the family members and friends that came to support and volunteer their time. Head coach .mann also needs to be recognized for his hard work throughout the entire season that culminated this weekend at the National Championships. Great work boys!
Day 2 results at the Canadian Wrestling Championships!
U-15
Gurkaran Gill 85kgπ₯
U-19
Omrao Dhadda 71kgπ₯
Gurkaran wrestled hard and won 3 of his 4 matches to secure a silver medal. Our team senior Omrao Dhadda had an iron man performance at the U-19 nationals. He went 7-1 wrestling 8 matches in 1 day! After losing to the eventual gold medal winner, Omrao had to win 6 straight matches on the consolation side to win his bronze medal. Fighting through a shoulder injury, he wrestled almost every 15-20mins and showed his true grit and determination making our entire team proud.
Good luck to all the wrestlers who will be competing today in the Greco divisions.
Great results on day 1 at the U-17 Canadian Wrestling Championships!
GursharJohal 51kgπ₯
Dominic Wendt 55kgπ₯
Both wrestlers competed hard and made the podium. It was Gurshar's first year in U-17 nationals and he fought hard on the back side after losing a very close semi final to win bronze. Dominic had a steller performance making the national finals after only been training with the club for 8 months! We expect big things from these 2 in the future.
Good luck to all the wrestlers competing today in U-19!

Thank you to for this event recognizing athletes for their hard work, dedication and commitment to sport.
"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."
Last year, all 4 of these athletes ended their Provincial Championships with a disappointing result.
Gurshar lost in the finals.
Dominic and Omrao lost their matches for bronze. Prithvi lost before making the top 6.
But none of them gave up on their goals. They came to practice everyday ready to learn more, train harder and wrestle better.
This year, they came into the provincials confident in their preparation. All 4 of them improved their wrestling and came back with a result they can be proud.
π₯ Gurshar Johal
π₯ Dominic Wendt
π₯ Omrao Dhadda
π₯ Prithvi Mann
π Most Outstanding Match - Gurshar Johal
But the training doesn't stop here. New goals mean more training and preparation. The Canadian Nationals Wrestling Championships are in Vancouver, BC at the end of March, and all of our athletes will be looking to build on their performance from the provincials.
βThe road to success is always under construction."
