Thank you to Acton Optical, Doris Treleaven and The Town of Halton Hills for returning the Heart of Acton to it's home.

Express your love for our community with a lock! ❤️🔒 The 'Love Acton Heart' art installation, created by local artist Doris Treleven and kindly donated to the Town by Acton Optical has made its comeback. The interactive sculpture is a large metal heart on which people can attach padlocks to express their love for the local community.

Our Story

What is a Business Improvement Area?

A Business Improvement Area (BIA) are generally located in the geographic boundary of the historical “downtown” core. They are a governing body established by the municipality (Municipal Act, 2001).

BIA’s are governed by a Board of Management represented by Town-appointed members as well as commercial tenants, property owners, and the BIA Manager who sits as an advisor and operations lead.

Operational funding for BIA’s come from a municipal tax imposed on commercial buildings located in the district. However, BIA’s generally work to develop their funding in other ways to increase value for their districts.
