Yesterday I had the honor of being a guest speaker at the Town of Ajax Spotlight series. Such a great time educating seniors on planning for care as they age in place. .

I am so blessed to have these wonderful people apart of my staff. What a great time celebrating at our Christmas lunch. Looking forward to what 2024 will bring our way. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Our clients loved these cross stitch birds, they all did such an amazing job at it as well. Cross stitching is a great craft idea for seniors as it can help towards cognitive stimulation and can help slowdown cognitive decline, it helps keep the mind sharp. A very peaceful and mindful craft!

June 28 The Lighthouse Retreat turned 10 years old. On Sept 22nd we celebrated this wonderful milestone. To my family, staff, volunteers, friend's, community partners, dignitaries and clients and their families thank you for your dedication and support. I look forward to the next 10 years and beyond.

Today The Lighthouse Retreat's team of golfers (Andrew and Michael Reid)are at the annual golf classic put on by . So happy we could sponsor this event.

Our final picnic for the year. What a great time we had. Fresh air, memory care, a long walk, ax throwing, bean bag toss, exercise class and much more. This group will sleep very well tonight. Great job team.

Attended MPP Barnes luncheon at the Ajax Convention Centre today. Had the honor of meeting Premier Doug Ford and MPP of Whitby Lorne Coe.

These 3D streamer flowers were so much fun to make, and totally worth it for the end result. Our seniors loved the final product of this craft and couldn’t wait to display them in their homes. This craft is helpful for hand-eye coordination and for keeping the brain stimulated!

Last week we took our seniors on our monthly day in the park. We had so much fun this day, lots of sun and fun games to play, along with our exercise coordinator Dan joining us at the park to host the fall prevention exercise class. All of our seniors had a blast and are looking forward to next months day in the park!

On this week our seniors painted these amazing bird houses, just look how creative they are!
Painting for seniors can be very therapeutic and can have many benefits such as, improving hand-eye coordination, sensory & brain stimulation, improves cognition, relaxes the mind & body, as well at reduces anxiety and can provide a sense of personal achievement!

55+ seniors BBQ was held at the Audley Community Centre today. such a great event. Thanks to my staff Melanie and volunteer Rosita for a a job well done.

Tonight I had the privilege of being on the panel with some great professionals at the Youth Job Fair hosted by MP Mark Holland and team. The future is bright for our young people. So impressed by their questions.

Our seniors had a great time painting and learning step by step how to create these amazing pipe cleaner flower pots!

Before the easter weekend our seniors made “no sew sock bunnies” to take home and celebrate the easter weekend with their families!

This afternoon we had the privilege of hosting MPP Patrice Barnes and the Minister of Seniors and Accessibility Honorable Raymond Cho. Our team of staff, students, board members, clients and volunteers were thrilled to have them present and was impressed with how well they connected with everyone. Thank you for taking the time to come and see the impact and are making in the .

High lights from this Valentines week: Excellent job making chocolate covered strawberries and the joy of making great gum ball machines was evident on the clients faces.
