Some photos of my booth at a Christmas maker’s market in December of 2022. Really missing making art and using my hands and creativity in this way! Some of these pieces are still available at 🔮✨💕☠️

A friend showed up on my doorstep with these skulls last week and my jaw dropped when I opened the box. Long have I waited to work on a skull with horns or antlers, much harder to come by than cow or horse skulls. Also wrapped in paper was a black bear skull.

I try to get as much of a history of each skull as I can, and my biggest hope is that these animal’s lives ended as free from suffering as possible and that they were utilized to the fullest. I am honoured to turn their bones into art, a full usage of their entire beings. These skulls here were donated to a college in Alberta and now rest in my hands, eager to add to their existing beauty.

Life and death, a continuous cycle. 🖤💀✨

Scavenging for bones is one of my favourite past times 🖤☠️

One of the pieces I sold to the lovely .designs at the market on Saturday! Little pieces of nature, obsidian stone and a raven feather made this one special to me, and I’m glad it was gifted to their child. 🧡🦷🪄

Cute little skull I found that had some obvious deformations (possibly the cause of death?) that I turned into a crystal galaxy spikey alien thing. From death —-> art. I think it’s a nice transition 💀🎨

FINALLY I can post about this gothic inspired skull I did at the end of last year because it is now in the hands of it’s new owners ♥️🖤

This was a commission piece by a friend for other friends, and I was SO glad for the creative freedom afforded to me for this piece. I was given the direction of “maybe some red, maybe black, kinda witchy?” 😋

Painted this baby black and red then crystallized the head and nose pieces, crystal quartz and pentagram center, tiny skull and metal detailing, black and red florals then finished with a shiny laquer. This was such a fun one to do!

My latest: Gilded Asymmetry.

It’s always so interesting to see the imperfections in bone structure on skulls. Ocular orbits slightly misaligned, one cranial suture higher than the other, a nasal turbinate oh-so-minutely different than it’s other half.

It reminds me that while imperfections exist in the very structure of nature, resilience and beauty can still be found. 💛🤍✨💀

This piece, the Zipped-Down Victorian, sold from a couple days ago!

To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure if this one would readily sell. She is a bit more on the eclectic side, so I am THRILLED someone loved the design that I took a bit of a gamble on to create. Gluing that zipper on symmetrically was the bane of my existence 🥲. I hope this skull and little piece of me lives happily in the home of its new owner. 🖤🦴💀🕷♠️➰🥀
