This Well Dressed Great Looking Group of Alliston Lions participated in the Everett Firefighter's Association Golf Tourney this Past Weekend. The EFFA is one of our tremendous volunteer community partners supporting our Alliston Lions Annual Christmas Hamper Food Drive. We understand this group of Lions can even play a little golf on top of unselfishly giving of their time to make the communities 'We Serve' better because of their efforts.

We Did A Thing! Under the leadership of Lion Ken D, known as LK2, this 'pride' of Lions and Alliston Scouts honoured our commitment to our Town's Most Famous Son by picking up garbage on our section of Sir Frederick Banting Drive. Thanks to those that take 'pride' in our community by keeping trash in their vehicles or in their own garbage cans. This is our lightest pickup day since we begun this project.
One of the Lions International's Pillars is Diabetes Awareness and Support. We are fortunate to be able to share with other Lions worldwide that our Club is from the small town that the co-discover of insulin, noted artist, war hero hails from. Just contemplate the billions of lives worldwide owed to Sir Fred. Alliston Lions are Proud of doing our little part and our commitment to Sir Fred's Legacy.
Little known fact...hence the post.. Lion Club Members are known as 'Knights of the Blind'. A program in the legacy of Lion Peter McCague is the collection of previously enjoyed eyeglasses. No matter the shape, condition or vintage, Lions ensures the donations reach a Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre. We have partnered locally with Optometrists in the collection. With the support of our Board of Directors and Membership with the hard work of Lion John D and Lion Bill T our club has taken this further by installing an eyewear drop off box at our Alliston Lions Hall, 60 Boyne Street, Alliston, North Entrance. Please consider donating your unused eyewear no matter the condition for recycling to those in need. Great Team Work Lions.
