Keeping kids active is a hard task now a days. They sit all day at school, then they have to sit to do homework after school...then it's the dreaded TV and / or screen time. Gone are the days that the norm is to go outside and play after school and on weekends. Technology has taken away this basic instinct for the majority of children resulting in so many negative affects both mentally and physically.
There are ways you can keep your kids active after school, but it's going to take some work on your part - you may have to be active too! Be the role model your kids look to for basic exercise by making it fun for them. Comment "Active" below or send us an email at [email protected] to receive some ideas on engaging activities with minimal cost and set up!
I'm not a doctor, but I can offer some general suggestions for alleviating joint pain. If you're experiencing joint pain, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to get a proper diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. That said, here are some common ways to help alleviate joint pain:
1. Rest: Give your joints adequate rest, especially if the pain is due to overuse or injury. Avoid high-impact activities that can worsen the pain.
2. Ice or Heat Therapy: Apply ice packs or cold compresses to reduce inflammation and swelling in the affected area. Alternatively, you can use heat pads or warm compresses to soothe sore joints and increase blood flow.
3. Weight Management: If you're overweight, losing excess weight can significantly reduce the pressure on your joints and alleviate joint pain.
4. Low-Impact Exercise: Engage in low-impact exercises like swimming, walking, or cycling, which are easier on the joints while still providing cardiovascular benefits and strengthening the surrounding muscles.
5. Joint-Friendly Diet: Incorporate foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (found in fatty fish, flaxseeds, and chia seeds), antioxidants (found in colorful fruits and vegetables), and anti-inflammatory foods (such as ginger and turmeric) into your diet.
6. Avoid Prolonged Inactivity: While rest is essential, prolonged inactivity can lead to stiffness and increased pain. Gentle movement and stretching can help keep joints flexible.
7. Avoid Repetitive Stress: If your joint pain is caused by repetitive motions, modify your activities or take frequent breaks to avoid overloading the affected joints.
Remember, these suggestions are general in nature and may not be suitable for everyone. If your joint pain persists or worsens, it's crucial to seek medical advice from a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. They can provide personalized recommendations based on your specific condition and medical history.

Friday Strength Training Trivia!
Comment down below your answer to these multiple questions! Answers will be posted in the comments!
Question 1: What is the minimum of hours a week you should dedicate to Strength Training?
Question 2: Should Pregnant Women Strength Train?
Question 3: Strength Training will help with _________.
You started out strong!
You were a beast, hitting the gym every single day, no matter what life threw at you.
You stumbled upon this online workout plan and stuck to it like glue. And what happened next? Well, your clothes? They began fitting like a dream. Your coworkers couldn't stop raving about your newfound energy, and your partner? Oh, they were definitely giving you those sly, suggestive "looks."
And then you got bored.
But here's the thing about that online program, after a while, it started to feel like déjà vu every single week. And that diet? Grilled chicken and broccoli, as healthy as it was, got pretty darn repetitive after a while.
So what should you do? How do you keep your fitness up when it gets boring?
Phone a Friend
You know what's a real game-changer? Working on your fitness journey with a buddy. Seriously, ask your bestie to tag along for a class, and you'll be doing both of you a huge favor. This becomes even more crucial during those chilly winter months when the urge to hibernate is strong. The gym, well, it becomes your ticket to not just working out but also connecting with other folks.
Health isn't just about hitting the treadmill or lifting weights. It's also about the human connection we all need. So why not knock out two birds with one stone? Get fit and socialize at the same time – that's what I call a win-win!
Mix It Up
If you've always been a runner but are getting tired of the same old scenery, why not switch things up and incorporate some strength training into your routine?
And hey, if you've been lifting weights since before Arnold was Governor, it might be high time to put those muscles to good use in a different way. How about heading out to the local hiking trails or rallying your buddies for a game of basketball this weekend?
If your gym routine is feeling as stale as last week's bread, a little novelty could be just the ticket to reignite your fitness enthusiasm. Remember, the routine you're finding ho-hum now was once all shiny and new. It's about time to recapture that fresh, exciting feeling.
The same goes for your nutrition too. If you're growing weary of those same old healthy recipes, why not pick out a few new ones to whip up this week? Shake things up, and your taste buds will thank you! Contact us if you want some fresh ideas.
Find a Coach
When it comes to long-term health and success, accountability is absolutely key, and having a coach by your side can be a game-changer.
A great coach doesn't just guide you but also keeps things fresh and exciting, preventing that dreaded boredom. Whether it's spicing up your workouts or revamping your nutrition plan, a coach can assist you in setting achievable goals and staying laser-focused on them, even when motivation starts to dwindle.
