Thank you for making the first five months of being open so spectacular! What an extraordinary journey it has been and as we celebrate our first five months together, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and everyone of you!
From the very beginning, you have all embraced our vision and brought our studio to life in the exact way we envisioned it to be. Our studio is so much more than just a Pilates studio; it has become a space thriving in community and filled with warmth, support, and kindness. We are continually inspired by the way everyone supports and cheers one another on and the connections and friendships that have blossomed within these walls, are a testament to the incredible individuals that make up our PURE Pilates family. We are forever grateful!

The local animal shelters in our community need our support more than ever so we have teamed up with to help with their annual fundraiser, supporting 3 local shelters; OSPCA Barrie, Street Cats Rescue & Precious Paws Rescue.
Bring a donation to the studio any day before December 1st to help fill our bin! Flexibility and Strength… The Ultimate Duo! 🫱🏼🫲🏽
When strength and flexibility don’t balance, the body can get incredibly stiff and immobile, increasing the chances of injuries, pain and discomfort. By adding more flexibility to your routine, the body becomes more supple and moving through life becomes much easier.
On the other side of things, if you are hyper mobile and don’t have strength to balance out your flexibility, the above can be equally true for you too, causing instability in the joints and increasing the chances of injury.
Pilates moves the body through both active and passive stretching, with a greater emphasis on active stretching. This allows the muscles to lengthen and strengthen during controlled transitions, offering an increase in flexibility and strength, providing a greater balance of the two.
With that being said, you do NOT need to be flexible to start Pilates. You can move within your bodies range and eventually that range will grow over time, bringing greater balance to the body as a whole. You will notice flexibility improvements almost immediately, as well as strength and stability if you are hyper mobile.
Pilates truly has us covered and is the perfect recipe to a functional life.

Every movement in Pilates is filled with the opportunity to create strength with length. The movement starts with the right intention.
When strength and length synergistically work together, control and power are at their peak and greater support is offered. With every muscle of the body engaged and the maximum energy reaching through the extremities of the body, the easier the exercises will feel. When you don’t move with intention, our muscles respond the same, not contracting to their full potential and in turn, turning off important stabilizing muscles. This often causes incorrect or dominant muscles to take the weight and therefore, the body can feel unstable, discomfort can be felt and alignment can be compromised.
So, from the very first expansive breath that drives us through our sessions to that very last reach, strength with length is crucial and will fuel you through all your movement.

Rounded shoulders, strong, tight chest and neck muscles can be caused by long days of sitting, driving, caring for kids, and/or using smartphones, tablets or computers for too many hours.
