I've really struggled with being a perfectionist for a long time. To the point of preventing and paralyzing me from starting projects. It was and still is sometimes crippling.

I had a really intensive soldering commission coming up. So I decided to go through my stones and get inspired to make something intricate with lots of solder joints. I had this stone for many years and every time I pulled it out, I ALWAYS saw a Beetle. I never felt inspired enough to make something with it.

During that day of looking for a challenge. I saw it and I played around with a few ideas, conversed with my brother about my ideas. He suggested I keep it mostly simple but still execute the Beetle's autonomy as best as I could. So that was it. The vision for it was born in my mind and how I wanted the final piece to look.

I would allow myself to make mistakes. What's the worst that can happen? Melt some metal? That's okay. I allowed myself to fail and I would overcome the obstacles or redo it if I had to.

It was only at the end when most of the pieces were together that I had the urge to stop and walk away out of fear of "messing it up". I didn't.. I worked on this for two days straight a Saturday and Sunday. The beetle came to life.

Working with the part of me that is a perfectionist was truly healing and showing this part that everything is really okay even if you "fail". It's all a learning experience and part of the process.

Seeing this piece go to its forever home was bittersweet. It also helped me reflect on how much work I've put in my healing journey.

It's October 25. My dad's birthday and I'm happy to be sharing this on his birthday because he was always so excited to see what I was making. He really would have loved seeing this piece. Happy Birthday Dad. 🎂 I'm going to go get him a coffee today like always. 💜💛💚

Connecting Sunflower Sugilite Memorial Pendants 💜

I absolutely loved making these memorial pendants. Everytime I get to make something so meaningful for people it always makes me feel like I am truly aligned with what I've set out to do with this.

This person's late fur pups will always be dear and close to their heart. Their friend commissioned me to make these pendants for them. We pulled together many different aspects to represent the pups and the Mum to make this very customized and personal.
The half sunflowers come together to represent connection you make with loved ones that truly make us feel complete.
The names of the late pups were engraved on the back so elegantly and the shape complimented the stones to represent dog tags.
Sugilite is such a unique and beautiful stone, like the connection between all of them that will live on forever.

This whole project made me feel so grateful. 🌻💜

Muonionalusta Meteorite is billions of years old. It spent millions of years cooling in space before impacting the earth, about one million years ago BCE. It has seen four ice ages during its time here, though it was only first discovered in 1906 in northern Scandinavia West of the border between Sweden and Finland.

This meteorite was such a fun and different material to work with. It was a decent size slice when I originally gave it to my partner with the intention of creating it into something for him. I carefully cut the slice into pieces and resealed them to prevent rusting, as they are mostly comprised of metals like nickel and iron. Doing this made them into the perfect sizes for this project.

Most identifying men are surprisingly hard to shop for or make anything for. I knew simple was the way to go with these cuff links. The meteorites were going to be the focal point anyway.

I would love to do more like this in the future. Maybe for holiday gifts coming up? 🤔

Good morning!! It's been a while. Coming here to say, FRIDAY! I love a good evening market! This is a beautiful location with live music, food, and, of course, other vendors like myself!

Have you ever been scared of failing so much that you never try? Or it feels like you're wasting precious time? Well, the time passes regardless.. are you going to do the thing you've wanted to do, take a chance, and POSSIBLY fail? Or are you going to let those moment of happiness pass you by because you're afraid of what might happen? and even if it does. So what? You get back up again and try!

I almost gave up on this piece for the forth time, I tried to fix something and then completely messed it up. I had to basically start over. Again.

I had a vision in mind, and I was excited about it. So after taking a break from it. I came back to it. I made it work, and it worked better than it did the first three times. It soldered in all the right places correctly.

So here it is, this lovely bird pendant. I finally finished it after it sat for almost 3 years.

Wow. Just wow. I'm amazed and in awe of how these wedding rings came out. My first wedding rings for very important people in my life. My younger brother and his now wife.
I am so thankful that they trusted me and believed in me that I could provide the quality, the detail, and sourced materials that they were looking for. It's work like this, and people like this that make my career possible. Phil has always pushed me to succeed even when my life was a disaster and I was disaster. He's always known I would get here. I took my own path to get to where I am currently. We are very different people now. When growing up, he was my best friend and sometimes my only friend, other than my cat Snowball. Haha. I appreciate having a brother so close in age that we could share a lot of similar things. We've grown apart, but those memories are still there, and the love is still there. Julissa has been such a beautiful and true addition to our family. She's made life a lot lighter and easier. Especially during tough times and tough moments. Also, in the easier times and beautiful moments, Julissa makes good things, great things. She's always belonged with us. I love that I get to say this as well. Her family is our family now, too. I am feeling very grateful for this beautiful union. August 25th, 2023, was an amazing day that we won't forget.
Thank you guys again for being in my life and also giving me this opportunity. 💛💚

The family nest ring in solid 10k yellow and white gold ✨️
It was an incredibly special custom piece to make for me. I honestly can't tell you how grateful I was to have someone choose one of my nest rings to be custom made into solid gold. It definitely brought me some tears.
The nest rings have a huge personal story behind it for me. It was a difficult time in my life. Today, I make them out of my special love for birds and as family rings.
