I think my favourite part about learning to spin right now is that the end result always surprises me. I almost stopped this one because all I could think was how much I disliked the colour combo. Glad I saw it through to the end because it did not turn out how I expected at all. I'm in β€οΈ
I feel like all of the hours I have spent learning are finally paying off because this is the first spin I can really say that I am 100% proud of. I may look back down the road and wonder what I was thinking but right now I am stoked π
This summer has been so busy already that I haven't even been able to step foot in my studio. I spun this yarn a few weeks ago before it got crazy and wanted to share! I haven't got any practice in and I still have a very long way to go in my learning journey but I'm finally starting to be proud of my results.
I also just scored a HUGE amount of weaving and spinning supplies in an estate sale. Things that I would never be able to buy new. I can't wait to show you... And also getting some help figuring out what some stuff even is π
Summer is so crazy busy in my house that I have not finished any new pieces in weeks. I was able to get some time to practice spinning and I finished these 2 last week. I'm slowly improving and excited to be able to use these in a new wall hanging. Here's to hoping I can even start it in the next 3 months π
Forever flowers make a pretty awesome mother's day gift! And the best part, they are all 20% off!
Sneak peek of this current WIP featuring the insanely beautiful art yarn made by π
I don't name my pieces but if I did this one would definitely be called Procrastination because it took me approximately forever to finish π
I'm interrupting all the flower lampshade posts to tell you that I changed this once again! But... I am finally happy with the result. Now I just need to add a little personal touch π
I think this one deserves it's own little square.
I knew I wanted to make a giant flower for the illumination mystery box but had now clue how. So much trial and error went into this one but one thing I was pretty proud of - I got the petal size and style right on the first try π
Some petals to brighten up my plant corner!
I'm leaving the country for a little vacay tomorrow hence the early reveal of my mystery box. I did not think I was going to finish in time but by some sort of miracle, I did!
I chose to use the frames provided as 2 lamp shades - a table lamp and a pendant lamp - and to say this was a challenge is such an understatement. My skills were put to the test at every step of the way but I would not expect any less with these boxes. I have never made anything like this before and I'm not too sure if I would attempt it again π But here they are! They are done!
Sneak peek of my mystery box!
Still have TONS of work to do on this but I'm glad to report that the frame is no longer bare.
Happy first day of spring! We woke up to a bunch of snow in my part of the world but at least the end of it is close π€πΌ
I've been hyper focused on finishing my current WIP so this is a repost from a few years ago. I created this custom for a friend but it will always remain one of my favourites
Purple is in! Having some mixed feelings about it but I'm just going to keep going with the flow and we'll see what happens π€πΌ
The new and hopefully improved! I haven't added the purple yet which could really make or break it. I've been a little nervous to take that step so a few days later, it still looks like this π
I took this progress pic right before this all came apart and started over again π
I find I can only really tell if I like the way a piece is going is by looking at photos. My naked eye seems to not show me the full truth. I know exactly how I want this to look in my head but at the last picture check it was not even close.
I hate undoing all the work that I've already put into this so I'm trying to stay confident that it will be worth it
As soon as I saw the amazing lush velvet I ordered on a complete whim I knew it had to be in this gold frame.
It's been some time since I found a really great frame while our thrifting so this might be the last framed piece for awhile - and it is available βΊοΈ
That amazing lush velvet and all other materials from

I think this colour pallette is one of my faves! I have to say - pink is growing on me!
Big fan of this piece in this spot!
I haven't had the chance to get this one listed yet but it is available via DM!
And done!
Halfway there!
I have no idea if this is still what it will look like when I finish but I did make some progress on this one over the weekend.
Finally some progress.
I have a bad habit of never catering my peices to the seasons... so the unintentional Christmas frame is back!
I have 4 half finished pieces I'm plugging away at and not a single one has anything to do this time of year π
I think that this piece still one of my absolute favourites.
So, this is the first piece I've finished in months. I've been a little absent from these squares over the summer but after an offical diagnosis for my wrist pain I'm finally able to get back into the swing of things.
Turns out it's something isn't actually curable but more manageable. I have to be careful how much time I'm working on each piece at once because overuse could actually lead to steroid injections or even surgery. And oddly enough some types of knots are off the table completely because of the way I have to move my hands to do them. To say I'm bummed is an understatement but at least I can still keep working away *slowly* π
And I'm so happy to finally have something new to share with you!
It's been a bit since I've actually finished a piece, but I finally did! I made these flowers so long ago and am happy they are no longer sitting on a shelf waiting for me to figure it out π
This piece is a gift for our greatest friends who are having their first baby and I can finally post it because it has offically made it to it's new home!
Now for the full frontal π
You may have seen the original this new piece is based off of in my feed before and looking at that... this new take is in a direction I never imagined it would go. This is why I love creating custom pieces. As nerve-wracking as bringing someones vision to life is, I LOVE that I get to create things I never would have imagined on my own.
This was my first attempt at the box. When I posted my final submission I mentioned that it was something completely different 24 hours before. This is the completely different.
It was so out of my element that no matter how many tweaks and adjustments I made, I just couldn't get it right. But I figured out why - I didn't like it atttt all. I made the rash decision to rip it apart right before the finish line and start fresh. I still think it was a great choice. My final piece felt more, mine...I may still getting some push back on that, lol. But you can't help it when it just doesn't feel right!
The final piece of the mini flower wall hangings is this pink lady!
All 5 of these flower pieces are available in the shop.
