I was an artist for the company from 2002 to 2009
Mac Updates( trainings ) happened once very season change or quarter, it mess a full day with other artist across the GTA

We were trained with customer service situations and new makeup and application techniques.
I was lucky enough to go for extra trainings in Trends
Watching fashion and runway videos from Pairs and New York backstage makeups from some of the MAC artist that worked there as well as other, it’s like Charlotte Tilbury, Pat Mcgrath these where names years before they were names in households from creating their own make up lines at Sephora
I love deciphering all the trends that I thought were going to be hot that season as well as other trends that I felt like we’re gonna last a decade a lot of things in trending a whole decade or 10 years. Waves and Trends of makeup and fashion go hand and hand - a lot of ppl dont know it but often creates makeup or looks for the Top designers and fashion, and those are the looks that come down the runway and trend down into what you see on social media has being the look like the clean girl look for example it is trending for the season.

Love having all the different generations sit in my chair ~ one of the things I love the most about the industry that I’m in connections, and that goes deep when you have client relationships it can be many years that you go through their lives with them, including sharing their children getting married their children having babies and those babies graduating grade 8. Where does the time go? I guess it goes by pretty quick when you’re having fun not to say that having the studio hasn’t had ups and downs but this picture right here makes me happy.

I originally got into make up artistry, because I wanted to learn how to be beautiful too. I always had a hard time keeping make up on. I have a very oily skin and it tends to smudge and smear all over so I would put something on thinking I looked great and then look in the mirror four hours later, and it would be halfway down my face. It was my goal to perfect make up to the point where it could last all day without smudging or smearing I think the thing about Makeup is that it brings a certain type of inner confidence, knowing that the outside is presenting just how you feel on the inside. Beautiful 🤍
if you look good, you feel good it is true, and then it allows you to be your most authentic self in situations that you otherwise might feel nervous or intimidated by inner self confidence, grows in time, and whatever is on the outside doesn’t matter at all, but we’re all working on ourselves in different phases and stages of life so sometimes make up a little goes a long way.
