What Is a Dental Bridge?
Dental bridges bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap (these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth) and a false tooth/teeth in between.
These can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Dental bridges are supported by your natural teeth or dental implants.
Feel free to chat with us at your next check up to see if this would be an option for you.
Do you have a missing tooth or have you been told you will need a crown?
Call and book a consultation with your dentist to discuss your options available with them. We will be more than happy to arrange a time for you.
Brushing twice a day and flossing at home is a great start to care for your oral health but Tartar is hardened dental plaque.
Tartar can build up on your teeth and lead to gum disease and other oral health issues. Your hygienist or dentist can remove the build up for you at your regular dental check ups. You can’t remove it with brushing and flossing alone.
So give us a call to schedule your next Dental Hygiene appointment.

When you're sick, you know to cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze. Don't forget to keep up your dental and toothbrush hygiene as well. According to the CDC, the flu virus can live on moist surfaces for 72 hours. “The number one rule is not to share your toothbrush anytime, but especially when you are sick,”
If you have a cold or flu and are experiencing pain in your upper teeth, especially toward the rear of your mouth, the pain might actually be a side effect of acute sinusitis.
Acute sinusitis tooth pain can be triggered by a virus or bacterial infection.
Should you have continuing concerns of any oral issues such as pain swelling, inflammation or bleeding gums. Call and make an appointment with your hygienist or dentist.

Stay Hydrated to Avoid Dry Mouth
The medications you might be taking for a cold or flu—such as antihistamines, decongestants or pain relievers—can also dry out your mouth, so drink plenty of water and suck on sugarless cough drops, throat lozenges or candies to keep that saliva flowing.

Having good oral hygiene is important. But even if you regularly brush and floss, you may find yourself needing a dental implant.
Some may be deciding whether to go for dental implants or dentures as both have their pros and cons. Implants are ideal for those that have one or more missing teeth and are looking for a long-term replacement with teeth that feel and look natural.
Who needs a crown?
If you have a large cavity that’s too big for a filling, it may be time for a crown.
You may also need a crown if your tooth is:
severely worn down
cracked
weakened
Crowns are also recommended following a root canal on a tooth, because the tooth is more fragile and needs protection.
You may be a candidate for a crown if you’re missing a tooth, and the dentist needs to put in a dental implant. A crown can be part of a bridge if that is what is suggested as an option.
We will be happy answer any of your questions and let you know what the best option is for you and your smile.
