Today marks our final day of donations towards the Simcoe Paramedic Toy Drive!!! Last week, Innovative Automation hosted one of our most highly anticipated charity events of the year: the Electrical vs Mechanical hockey game! This year, our goal was to fill the hockey net with donations, and it is safe to say it has been a huge success.

With the holidays right around the corner, it is so important to remember the impact that collective efforts can have on our community. The generosity displayed by everyone who participated in the Simcoe Paramedic Toy Drive and the spirited rivalry showcased at the Electrical vs Mechanical hockey game truly embody the spirit of giving!! As we approach the festive season, let us carry this sense of unity and compassion forward!!

It is so empowering to witness the passion for robotics within our youth. It is even more rewarding to be able to share this experience with them!

Meet Banting Robotics from Banting Memorial High School. Here, individuals have the opportunity to develop competencies in coding, wiring, building, web design, business management, 3D modeling, and more. This team not only collaborates to construct robots but also participates in FIRST Robotics (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an internationally-recognized program that fosters various skills such as collaboration, responsibility, organization, problem-solving, and time management.

Banting Robotics places high importance on community involvement, which is one of the many aspects that stood out to us about this team. They have created exhibits for the Simcoe County Theatre Festival, been featured on TSN, and maintain a strong presence in their community of New Tecumseth, ON.

We were so happy to share our facility with this team! It fills us with great joy to be able to inspire such passionate individuals and pass down our knowledge to future leaders and changemakers of our industry. We cannot wait to see what they have in store and appreciate the opportunity to sponsor them and their journey!!

Our enduring partnership with United Way Simcoe Muskoka, spanning over two decades, holds a very special place in our hearts. With each year being a massive success, we are so proud of all that we have accomplished and for those who contributed to achieving our goal!!

Last Friday, our annual Pie Throw was a hit, raising nearly $20,000!

For over 20 years, Innovative Automation has been hosting the Pie Throw as part of our United Way Simcoe Muskoka fundraising campaign. This event has been a continuous success and is an indispensable asset to our annual campaign. It is one of our most highly anticipated fundraiser events, and we are so grateful for all of the support from our community of Innovators, service providers, and suppliers.

A big thank you to Brian Shelley and Suzanne Prosser from United Way Simcoe Muskoka for your partnership and support, and to Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd., Powell Jones LLP, Jones DesLauriers Blevins Insurance Group, Festo, Murrelektronik Canada, Westburne, Hoops and Loops, Cowden-Woods Design Builders Ltd., Mayor Alex Nuttall and the City of Barrie for contributing to such a fun-filled (and whipped cream-filled) afternoon! Our president, Michael Lalonde, had the remarkable opportunity of attending the Canadian partnering delegation in Brazil!! Its primary goal was to introduce innovative Canadian SMEs to potential partnerships in Brazil, with a strong emphasis on establishing joint R&D collaborations for future commercialization. This included participation in international B2B partnering events, visits to research excellence centers, and the chance for each company to showcase their products at Mercopar 2023, the largest business and industrial innovation fair in all of Latin America!

Brazil represents a growing demand for industrial modernization, particularly in the realm of Industry 4.0 solutions aimed at enhancing productivity and fostering innovation. "I was blown away by the scale and sophistication of many of the companies and organizations we visited! This market represents a massive opportunity," says Lalonde.
