What a day at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club yesterday! Thank you GM - Molly Jagroop, Director of Golf - Ian Crebbin, Superintendent - Patrick Greenman, Teaching Professional (and Ontario Golf Hall of Fame member!) - Bob Beauchemin, Facilities and Operations Director - Wade Sit, Assistant Professional - Jeremy Wood… phew… what a list… for an outstanding tour! Our students gained a great deal from the sharing of your collective golf experiences and words of wisdom. And to Mr. Sean McEvoy of the CMAC and Ontario Racquet Club (and Georgian grad), thank you for organizing the day and being with us. It’s days like this that we truly appreciate the amazing people within the world of golf.

A big thank you to Steven Young, Executive Professional and Director of Golf at the Banff Springs Golf Course in Alberta, for speaking with our Golf Industry Management students today. Your presentation was entertaining, enlightening, and informative. We all learned a great deal about what the golf operations are like at those iconic Canadian Rockies resort properties. And a second big thank you to our very own second-year GLFI student Matt Mackenzie for sharing your experiences about what it’s like to work there as a co-op student. What a great afternoon!
What a great day for the Golf Industry Management students! We travelled to the BPG buying show in downtown Toronto to see how golf shops view, analyze, and order the equipment for their shops. We also had a chance to visit with some leaders in the world of golf. A big thank you to Hendrick van der Geld, GM of The Club at North Halton, Todd Zado, Head Professional of the Wascana Country Club in Regina, and the BPG leadership team of Claude Gamache, Jody Levoy, and Karianne Lefebvre for sharing your respective knowledge and expertise!

What an exceptional visit we had to Redcrest Golf Club today! A huge thank you to Director of Operations Shayne Dysart and to the entire team at Cardinal Golf Group. Steve, Sean, Peter, Ian, and Kevin sure rolled out the red carpet and demonstrated to our students what a world class operation is all about. Last Friday at the Tangle Creek Golf and CC, the Georgian College Golf Industry Management program hosted our annual high school golf tournament. This 2-person team event attracted almost 100 golfers from across the province. A huge thank you to all athletes and their coaches (and to our amazing volunteers) for a tremendous day! Tangle Creek was a wonderful host and Titleist, an amazing sponsor!
