If you are looking for something that you just can’t find in a store - maybe I can help! I wanted a little basket for my wet / used facecloths so that they are separate from my other laundry. (Damp dirty laundry doesn’t go well with dry dirty laundry in my mind 😂). I found this cute little basket but wanted a liner to match my laundry basket. She’s done! I absolutely love how this bag turned out! It’s such a great pattern! Thank you This sling backpack has a very roomy main compartment (zipper is against your back while wearing which makes it anti-theft), two side compartments that are separate (definitely large enough to hold your water bottle etc…). When I start on a new pattern I take my time. I pick out all of the fabrics, hardware, zippers and pulls. I read through the pattern a few times, I watch the instructional video if there is one. I cut out the fabric, interfacing and prepare all of the pieces. ALL before a stitch is even made! When the sewing begins - I get excited to see the project come together as I envisioned it. And if a mistake is made along the way - my seam ripper comes out and I fix it. It’s always exciting to start a new project! Stay tuned to see how it turns out!!

Saturday Make - started today with pulling fabric and see where it goes from there! Choosing zipper tape is one of my favourite parts! Love how this pouch turned out - classy colours, roomy boxed bottom, gold accents. And added a pocket and two card slots too! How did you spend today? Hopefully doing something you love!

20 months ago I made my first Instagram post about switching my business from baking to sewing. Pivot was a word we used a lot in 2020 and many of us had to do that with our businesses. Some of may not know, but like many entrepreneurs in 2020 we had to make some big changes to keep our businesses going! I was a baker/hand cookie decorator for many years and I loved what I created - but then all events were cancelled and well let’s just say I had to put my thinking cap on. I knew there would be a need for masks so I taught myself how to sew. Yes you read that right - I’ve only been sewing since April of 2020. AND I LOVE IT! I’ve been crazy busy sewing masks, but also a lot of other awesome items. Pouches, bags, gift items etc…. This week I am busy designing for the upcoming holiday season and I wanted to come up with a pattern for an iPad / laptop pouch. I couldn’t find a pattern that met my needs so I made my own and I love it! Problem is that I made it just a bit too small for my iPad Pro - but I always learn from my mistakes!
