Pointe Claire Toastmasters Club
Pointe Claire Toastmasters - More than just talk! For nearly 100 years, in-person meetings have been at the heart of Toastmasters.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pointe Claire Toastmasters was unable to continue with in-person meetings. We have adapted to a hybrid club meeting which combines online and in-person attendance.

Once upon a time, at a Toastmasters meeting, a member took the stage to give a speech titled "The Art of Balancing Beer and Pizza in Life." As he passionately spoke about the perfect harmony between cheesy goodness and a refreshing brew, he cleverly segued into a speech about "Sharing Hope, One Slice at a Time," proposing a pizza delivery service that donates a slice to those in need with every order. Now salivating for more than just speeches, the audience enthusiastically applauded the idea and eagerly awaited the next speaker. To their surprise, a fellow member approached the lectern with a plate full of free food samples, declaring her speech, "Satisfying Your Stomach and Soul: The Power of Free Food in Captivating an Audience." The room erupted in cheers as they munched on the unexpected treats. Not to be outdone, another member shared her experience of "Raising Chickens and Charming Crowds," even bringing a clucking hen on stage to demonstrate her newfound charisma. Then came the audacious speaker who, with a straight face, claimed he would dominate the Survivor Series by outwitting, outplaying, and outlasting his competition while surviving on nothing but beer, pizza, and his trusty bicycle. Well, there were enough stories about bikes! The audience burst into laughter. The room was filled with delight and disbelief when a brave member recounted her Plummeting Passion: Falling Out of Airplanes and Discovering Speeches That Really Take Off! The audience found themselves oddly captivated by his thrilling storytelling. Next, a speaker took the stage, donning psychedelic glasses, and delivered an imaginative speech on "Seeing Things Through Colors: A Kaleidoscope of Perspectives." The audience left the room seeing the world through a vibrant lens, convinced that even decluttering their lives could be amusing.
To conclude the evening, a member delighted everyone by sharing her expertise on "Cupcake Therapy: How a Sweet Treat Can Solve All Your Problems." The audience indulged in a delightful sugar rush, feeling uplifted and ready to conquer the world—one cupcake at a time. Toastmasters have never been so deliciously entertaining.
