Kindergarten Orientation took place today. 🥳 We were so happy to meet the new faces. We cannot wait to see you again after summer break.
Ms. Sarah led us in a Water walk. The water walk is inspired by the efforts of Jospehine Mandamin, who started this initiative back in 2003. Her mission was to draw attention to the water crisis faced by Indigenous communities throughout Canada. She walked around each of the 5 great lakes twice as well as along much of the Saint Lawrence, between 2003-2017. Throughout April-May, our students learned about the current state of the water crisis, Indigenous relationships to water, and about Josephine's walk. Our own mini water walk was a way to pay honour to Josephine and Indigenous culture while highlighting the need for clean water for all communities in Canada.
Today, the K5 children invited a grandparent to build a gift for our forest. The choices were between a bird feeder, insect hotel, or insect feeder. The project was completed with love and care with the help of their grandparent. We then installed the nature projects in our forest for the wildlife to enjoy. What a beautiful new addition of creating community connections - within our very own family.
The K4 and K5 ventured back to Bois-de-Liesse to learn all about insect with the Guêpe animators. The weather was perfect for an all day outdoor trip!
Today, the performers poured their talent on stage!! Here is a collection of SOME of the performances that kept us wow-ing the entire way! Friday, families of the performers are in for a treat. Please follow the sign to enter - crosswalk door (by the parking lot).
