Spreading a little cheer!

Yesterday Douglas + Son and Kawartha Dairy dropped by the Bobcaygeon Food Bank where we were thrilled to present them with a cheque for 7,805.00!
This was the result of our collaborative fundraising campaign from the sales of our custom D+S designed apparel team-up with Kawartha Dairy. It was a great success! And a huge thanks to everyone that supported our efforts!

There are an awful lot of folks in need these days, especially in these incredibly trying times and at this time of year. It’s our great honour to help out.

So, on behalf of Kawartha Dairy, and from our little family at Douglas + Son to yours, we wish you all the happiest of holidays.

We’re super excited to announce a special Kawartha Dairy and Douglas + Son collaboration!

We were so honoured to be asked last year to create a holiday gift for the incredible staff at the iconic local landmark, Kawartha Dairy. The response to the hoodie was so overwhelming that the two companies decided we just had to offer a version to the general public. And do a little good at the same time!

So for every t-shirt or hoodie sold, a portion of all proceeds will go to the Bobcaygeon Food Bank on behalf of Kawartha Dairy and Douglas + Son.

We’re beaming!!! So incredibly happy to report that we have been given the green light to throw our doors open and welcome you back into our shop beginning this FRIDAY!!!

It’s been a long, difficult, crazy haul for everybody, but fingers crossed, we are finally seeing some light at the end of what has felt like a never-ending tunnel!

This is a slightly updated post from our INSTAGRAM responding to Thursday’s devastating news:

The recently released so called “re-opening” plan from the Ford government has left us beyond gutted.

We now have at least another 24 days of lockout to look forward to before we receive the magnanimous gift of being allowed to reopen our shop. And to a whopping 15% capacity! Whatever that is. Yippee!!! And then we get to follow that up with a shred of a summer season. Woohoo!!!

We are now losing our second consecutive Victoria Day Weekend and in small towns like ours, in which we have a very short season, this is just devastating to small businesses that have already been pushed to the very brink. Every day we lose over spring and summer is monumental.

I could write a 2,000 word post (in all honesty I have written and deleted and rewritten and deleted again and again at least that many words) but instead I’ll just say this: If praying is your thing, you may want to say a little one for small business. We are under siege. We are all in trouble.

Forging onwards. As best we can.

Sorry we haven’t posted since the news became official. Honestly, just like so many of you, we’re just off-the-charts mentally fried at this point and needed to take a little time to process this and come up with yet another plan to move forward.

We’ll once again be available for curbside pickup by appointment.

Our website is of course always open for all your D+S needs. Options include both delivery and curbside pickup.

And we’ll be in the shop from time to time to help with your pickup needs.

We’ll be in the shop today (Sat) from 11 til 1 pm so come on by and we’ll be happy to help you out from a distance.
