I’ve got something to say about 2023 but first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I’m so grateful for all of you who have endlessly supported me through this journey of life.

2023 was a challenging one. In more ways than one. It was a huge growth period for me in my work and personal life which I was extremely motivated for and excited about. I was endlessly focusing on my job and trying my best to start a new life as a tattoo artist by participating in extra networking opportunities, settling in my new home and trying to have a good work-life balance. The work-life balance is where I failed.

If you were a close friend, family member or client of mine over the summer, you’d know that I was unable to work for a month. I was going, going, going, until my body and mind said, no more! I didn’t want to, but I had to accept that it was “just” anxiety and burnout. There were warning signs of being exhausted, intrusive thoughts and insomnia but I just pushed through and thought, eventually I’ll be okay. It caught up to me. I was essentially mentally and physically immobilized unable to do, well, anything!

I knew I needed to take my health seriously. My husband and I quickly got my doctor on board, started medication, got a natural path doctor, started therapy and more regularly attended therapies like massage, chiropractor and yoga. It was honestly the hardest thing I’ve had to do because my body and mind were fighting me every step of the way.

Little by little I returned to a good routine and slowly integrated back to work in August. I’m now feeling stronger than ever and am not afraid to put myself first with a focus on healthy living, meditation, journaling and breathing techniques.

If you have a little voice telling you to slow down or care for yourself, do it! It’s a necessary part of life that I learned how to prioritize it the hard way.

I am so thankful to all of my clients who patiently waited my return; I feel it was worth the wait. My creativity is so enriched and I’m very excited to see what 2024 has in store for us. Love you all! Now go and conquer 2024 like the bad ass that you are!

Hey everyone! It’s been a minute since I’ve used this page but I’ve decided to revamp it into my tattoo portfolio for Facebook! Going to be playing catch up posting some stuff on here from the last year and a bit. Some people don’t use Instagram so I wanted to make my tattoo content more accessible. Finished this piece up for the one and only .mariexxo . I asked her to tell me what her dream tattoo would be so I put her ideas into this design! We are both in love😍

Inspired by my love of the ocean and hot sunny days. I hope this brings memories of sunshine and beaches on this cold Canadian Sunday.

How 'bout this wild kitty cat? This is painting #2 for that we were keeping top secret for on of her bridesmaids. The colours in this painting make me want to stand on my head and smile as big as a rainbow... ya know?🌈😂 I'm so happy with how this turned out. Thanks again Heather!

Happy Friday friends! I have been waiting a while to post this painting because it was one of two bridesmaids gifts. The bride asks to keep this a surprise for her girls. So I'm excited to share! Thanks so much for all the support. FYI, she was literally the most stunning bride on the planet ❤

📣📣📣 ANNOUNCEMENT about booking a commission. For the next few months I am going to be focusing on some art for a personal project for an exciting new chapter of my life. For the time being, I will be postponing painting orders. Those who have already paid a deposit will be recieving their painting(s) still. I will make another announcement when I resume taking orders and will continue to post some different art that I will be working on. In the meantime, please enjoy this self portrait I did a few years ago 😊

Jax is a very handsome English Springer Spaniel who is so loved by his owners. I was asked to replicate Jax in his original colours and chose a green background to compliment his red collar. I had the pleasure of meeting Jax when I met up with my client to hand over the painting, he was so sweet and perfectly groomed. My client told me that he has soulful and loving eyes, you can see it right away when you look at him. This painting ended up being a gift for for my clients 40th wedding anniversary!

WIP pics. A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to sit on my deck and paint outside during the beautiful weather we have had. What do you do when the sun is shining? ☀️

I have no words for how excited I was to give this to my amazing cousin Lisa... but I also have SO many words.

Lisa contacted me to have a large painting commissioned for her office in an Architechture business that she started called . The crazy part was, Lisa didn't give me any restraints for this painting, just surprise me! 😳😳😳 SOOOO I decided to make this painting something that spoke to the amazing things she is doing with her business. When I asked Lisa about her Architecture business, one of the things she noted was that she is striving to design and deliver Architectural works that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

I took that thought and ran with it... Here is the long winded version of what this painting is about:

When thinking about historical Architecture, a pivital moment that comes to mind is Greek and Roman Architecture. This is where the Greek godess Artemis comes in. Artemis, in Greek religion, is the goddess of wild animals, the hunt, and vegetation. Among the rural populace, Artemis was the favourite goddess. This is the total embodiment of Lisa as one who is in touch with the Earth and a statement of architectural greatness. Artemis is placed in front of some pillars which too become one with nature as they morph into the trees and lead you down a path, into the distance, linking her to the modern architecture of a city scape.

You may notice some birds flying around. There are three main birds; the one in the middle is the least detailed bird, the 2nd is on the left side, this bird has slightly more detail with some general outlines and swatches of colour, the final bird sits next to Artemis near her shoulder and is a fully realized bird. The idea being that when you are designing, you first have a general idea, you next refine that idea with more details and then you finally produce the final product. As the birds get closer to Artemis (or Lisa) they become more and more refined. If you look closely, there are more birds flying in the city skyline.

Seriously, how cute is this!? It's an image straight out of a story book and I'm so proud to have been able to paint it! You can tell, these two are deffinitley best friends 💙 Thank you .bender for the commission!

VOTE my friends: Left or right, which one is your favourite?

These were painted these a few years ago and are quite large at just over 5ft × 2ft. The one one the left was inspired by a stained glass image I saw online and then I modelled the pheonix to match.

PALETTE PIC; It took me around 100 hours to create this... 😂 Take a step inside my brain, its scattered and unorganized but quite a lovely spot to sit and stay a while. It's not realistic but oh so very cheerful. This is what my palette looks like after many hard hours put into my latest piece. Dozens of colours are layered on here. You'll have to be patient to see the painting as it's a surprise for my amazing cousin Lisa I'm terribly excited and also a little nervous to give it to her. Stay tuned folks!

UPDATE #2 hey, hi, hello there! What a beautiful Saturday we are having today! If your day wasn't already bright enough, here is a colourful update on this wedding picture I am painting. It's been a slow process but is starting to pay off. Lots more to do but I'm not patient enough to wait for the finished product.
