Clarington has so many great green spaces near by and I am all about hitting my daily step goal. Even if the trails are covered in ice or mud, we will still get out there! It’s actually really cool to see the conditions change through out the year.
Today, I am happy to report that the trails at Stephen’s Gulch were pretty awesome! So ready for more spring walks and the return of the sun! ☀️ 🥾
Looking forward to our next trip in less than 50 days! 🛫
I’ll be ditching the coat, gloves and boots and exploring Puerto Rico. If you have any PR recommendations, let me know! We tend to explore a lot by foot and go for hikes but we are going to rent a car to explore the island!☀️⛅️
Although Mondays are my busiest day of the week, they’re one of my favourite. I’m out the door early to hit the gym and to head to work at my full-time gig. In the evenings, I’m at Flow Physiotherapy working with clients of all ages.
Physiotherapy assessments available for all ages, starting at 1 month +
Loving the fall weather and reconnecting with nature after a busy and eventful summer!
Our honeymoon to Spain was everything I wanted from it. Lots of sun, new food and drinks and time spent exploring the city and national parks.
Looking forward to shifting into new routines and saving for a house this fall!
The summer has been flying by but I'm soaking up every ray and outdoor adventure! ☀️ With just over two weeks until my wedding, the countdown is on!
Celebrated my birthday with a local staycation on the water. I’ve always found being on the water to be grounding and great opportunity to reflect and refocus. Looking forward to many more adventures this upcoming year!
Core strength is super important for kids development (from infants all the way into adulthood!). Developing core strength and endurance is important for improving performance in both sport-specific and day-to-day tasks in addition to supporting optimal posture and spinal health. Physiotherapists can assess core strength and provide customized programs to develop these skills!
It's been just over 3 months since I joined the Flow team, and I've had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing clients from the local community. As a physiotherapist, I work with both paediatric populations (infants and children) and adults who have a variety of active goals. If you're wondering how physiotherapy can help you, don't hesitate to reach out to me! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
I’m grateful to have my loyal adventure companion who loves long walks, sunshine and the outdoors as much as I do. It’s a lot fun having a dog that can keep up with our active lifestyle!
I’ve been loving the longer days and more sunshine ☀️ Exposure to natural sunlight can have a positive impact on your health including regulating your circadian rhythm and improving your mood, energy levels, and sleep quality. The earlier in the day you are able to get out, the better!
The maple is starting to flow and the first day of spring is quickly approaching! I've been eager to increase my daily steps and this weekend, I was able to by taking advantage of our local maple syrup festival.
Community events are a great place to get some exercise, explore new places and connect with the community. If you can walk to them, even better!
Who else is ready for spring? 🌷🧹
Balance skills are key for kids gross motor development. They help with body control, spatial awareness, and can boost confidence and self-esteem. Physiotherapists have many techniques and exercises to help improve balance and body awareness!
Even when things are busy, you might be surprised of how helpful it can be to take a few seconds or minutes to check-in with yourself.
The last few weeks have been hectic for me and I've been reflecting on ways to be more present in my day-to-day life. I've found that looking for small moments throughout the day has been helpful in keeping me grounded.
Taking just 5-20 seconds to check-in with my body, posture and breathing has been really helpful. Whether it's noticing the sensation of my feet on the ground or taking a deep breath and feeling my chest expand, these small moments help me to be more present and mindful.
Spring is only a few weeks away and I'm already looking forward to more sunshine, outdoor activities, and long walks with Nori🌷🌞🐶!

Early intervention is key for our little ones' physical development! Physiotherapy screenings help identify any physical delays and provide personalized care plans.
Taking on learning language has been a challenge, but the experience has been well worth it. Practicing while traveling has been a fun experience and opened up new doors for connecting with people that I may not have otherwise encountered.
Routine is a very important to me but sometimes a change of pace is good for the soul. Traveling and trying new things breaks up the monotony and keeps life exciting. I love going to new places and having new adventures!
Loving these longer days and mild winter weather! It’s been nice spending time outside, getting fresh air and re-connecting with the outdoors.
To kick off the New Year, I'm excited to start in a new space in downtown Bowmanville. I provide Physiotherapy services to all ages, from infants to adults with a special interest in paediatrics.
A few facts about me: 1) I love staying active and have a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix named Nori who loves coming along on adventures. 2) I grew up in the small community of Mitchells Corners and am proud to serve the area. 3) I'm currently working on learning conversational Spanish, with two trips planned for this year.
I'm looking forward to helping you reach your health and wellness goals in the new year!
Did you know that paediatric physiotherapy can have countless benefits for children? From improving gross and fine motor skills to helping with sensory integration and much more, this type of therapy can make a big difference in a child's overall development.
Some exciting changes are coming in the new year! As of January, I’ll be accepting private patients (adults and kids!) at Flow Physio in Bowmanville.
I am still full time at Grandview Kids and I really do love it there! This weekend I am looking forward to an aqua therapy course, which will be super helpful for the kids I work with post surgery!

You get some of the best views of nature when you are on the water paddling, fall is no different! 🍂🌊
I love getting out on the lake to check out the leaves in October, one last time, before I pack away my SUP for the winter.
Today was the perfect day to be outside, I’m soaking in all the summer days while they last! This morning we took a walk with the dog down to one of her favourite spots in the area: the lake front in Newcastle.
It’s a relaxing spot to check out wildlife and to listen to the waves crash. 🌊☀️
One of my favourite techniques (to perform and have done on me!) is cupping. Many of my clients like it too!
It can have many benefits including:
✅Relieving pain and reducing muscle tension
✅ Improving motion and reducing muscle stiffness
✅ Improving circulation and promoting relaxation/stress reduction
It is also helpful when recovering from an injury or to improve overall performance. If you’d like to try it, book an appointment with me by clicking the link in my bio, DM or visit spotphysio.ca
Exercising at home is hard!! When the gym is closed I struggle with getting started on my workouts from home. Something I look forward to quickly becomes one of the most challenging tasks in my day (but also turns out to be the most rewarding!)
One thing I’ve found helpful is:
1. Make a list of what you want to do (e.g cycle for 20 min or complete 3 sets of split squats).
2. Check it off as you go
3. Avoid ending or taking longer breaks during the workout
4. If your phone is distracting, try putting music on and leaving it in another room
I’ve found that doing this makes it easier for me to push through on days where I’m less motivated! Are you more likely to work out at a gym or from a gym?
Join me for a 6-week introductory Mindfulness and Movement program. When combined with traditional physiotherapy interventions, there are several benefits including reduced pain, improved mind-body connection, reduced stress and anxiety, in addition to improved sleep and physical health.
Sessions are covered under most extended health plans and can be offered in-person, virtually or a combination. Not sure if it’s a good fit for you, send me a DM () if you have questions or book an initial assessment to learn more. Link for booking in bio, text (289)385-6470 or visit spotphysio.ca.
When is the last time you truly connected with your sense of play, curiosity and/or adventure? For me, it’s when I step out into nature or explore a new spot.
I find myself more present and can easily reignite a sense of curiosity and wonder in myself when I am on an adventure. Spending the past week in Costa Rica and getting to experience another culture has allowed me to open myself up to new perspectives and ways of thinking.
If travel is not on your radar right now, that’s fair! But consider stepping out of your comfort zone and trying a new activity or checking out a new trail — or maybe it’s just taking a different route to work. Anything new that forces you to step outside of your comfort zone can spur new thinking.
While in Costa Rica, I’ve been taking a break from my phone to be present. I really appreciate the lush scenery and wildlife that has been all around me! Hiking through the cloud forest in Monteverde was incredibly grounding and an amazing opportunity to disconnect from my typical routine.
