Receiving a referral from one of my most valued friends/clients was one that I took very seriously from the moment I got off the phone.
I was asked to look after his in-laws who were considering selling their family home of many years in order to find a condominium closer to their soon to come grandkids!
Once I had the initial conversation with this professional couple, I could establish that they were well seasoned real estate clients who would only buy if all of the numbers added up.
The process of locating a suitable condominium that encompassed all of their wishes took time. The market only presented a very few options of which there was competition from other buyers.
We eventually found a great contender that was both closer to the city and their family but lone behold, the status certificate revealed that the reserve fund was grossly undervalued and the buildings repairs were mounting.
As a result, the buyers (and I) pulled away, got our deposit back (with some effort) and continued our search.
Eventually, we found a stunning unit at a very well managed building that ticked all of their boxes!
Since we were in the driver’s seat and had one other choice on a comparable condo, we gave a low offer and negotiated the sale!
We managed to secure this fabulous renovated unit for over 50k under asking! Talk about a great accomplishment in this heated market!
Once again, I attribute our success to mutual trust and respect as our winning formula!

I’ve always heard that many online reviews are fake, but didn’t want to believe it… I thought “who would put their neck on the line to support a business or product that they haven’t used”. Well, I get it now, fake reviews are big business and worth paying people hundreds of dollars a day! So these businesses with 100’s of reviews most likely pay for fake reviews because they’ve never earned them legitimately … sad sad sad!
It was this day 27 years ago at the ripe age of 24 that I got my real estate license. I also delivered pizza for the first six months or so thinking what better way to meet people and hand them my business card. Well that turned out to be a big mistake, people don’t usually hire their pizza boy to sell their house 😃
The truth is that I got into this career as a way to help others and live a life under my terms. It has had so many ups and downs that I could probably write several novels, but has never lacked in challenges.
As the industry evolves we must learn about new legislation, compliance, and technology, in addition to new trends that the public desire.
When I started, our MLS was about the size of a phonebook and contained listings that many times were already sold, but not updated until the new book was issued.
I’ve witnessed several up and down markets and many agents come and go. interestingly, many of the agents that I used to work with have since retired. I always thought that once everyone else retires people wouldn’t have much of a choice, but to use me. 🤪 I didn’t calculate how appealing this industry would be to so many young realtors.
Nowadays, it’s not about experience, but rather outsourcing all of the skill sets that used to be required of a single agent. I continue to learn and adapt and try to offer my best self to those who choose me as their agent.
