Today marks a new beginning as I join the growing team at Royal Service Real Estate Inc., Brokerage. This move represents a significant milestone in my real estate career as I continue to expand my services and bring new value to my amazing clients.
Before I step into this next chapter, I want to pause to acknowledge RE/MAX Jazz Inc., Brokerage – the place where I’ve spent the last seven years earning my real estate chops, along with all the people who helped shape me into the entrepreneur I am today.
I had the profound opportunity to shadow my long-time mentor and friend, Roger Bouma, over the last year, from whom I learned how to deliver superior service rooted in integrity.
And Dave and Noel Coppins, who have been there through all the big life milestones (like two babies, three elections and much more!).
I’ve learned so much over the years but if I had to sum it all up, I’d say…
1. Every client has a story and a dream. Our job is to listen to understand. When we can do this, we can help turn dreams into reality.
2. We rise by lifting others. Community is at the core of what we do as realtors, and RE/MAX Jazz showed me so many ways to make an impact by giving back.
3. Raise your hand and help make our industry better. Your perspective is valued, not only to help move the needle, but also to protect consumers.
4. Have a little fun while you’re at it. Forging friendships, collaborating, sharing ideas - these are all beautiful gifts we get to experience as entrepreneurs.
5. There is no limit to how many times an agent can go to Tim Horton’s when it’s right next door - so yes, accept another tea if offered.
With so many great moments already shared, I’m proud to take all that good and bring it along on my next adventure. Cheers to a new beginning!

Strengthening organized real estate! Congratulations to all!
Another great Durham Region update from Regional Chair & CEO John Henry - hearing the vision ahead with 14 downtown areas, astonishing amount of investments, and how Durham has become the energy capital of Canada. As always, thank you to the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, Whitby Chamber of Commerce, Clarington Board of Trade, and the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade for organizing the luncheon.
I had an opportunity to ask about high-speed internet access and expansion in Clarington - for more information, visit: www.durham.ca/en/economic-development/invest-and-grow/telecommunications.aspx -Availability-Map
Continued our housing advocacy efforts on behalf of the Durham Region Association of REALTORS with four solutions to help boost housing supply and add even greater consumer protections for Ontario’s homebuyers.
We had a great discussion regarding repurposing existing unused commercial spaces into affordable housing options, rent-to-own programs, and more.
A special thank you to MPP Jennifer French of Oshawa and her team for meeting with us.
Last month, I joined Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development Monte McNaughton, Whitby MPP Lorne Coe, and Ajax MPP Patrice Barnes, alongside housing colleagues, for an evening of discussions regarding the province's investments in skills development.
Minister McNaughton spoke to the province investing in giving people a second chance at finding their purpose and entering a career they can be proud of. He shared an incredible story of a young man who was given an opportunity for a meaningful career in the trades and the impact this opportunity had on his young family.
As my husband is an HVAC Mechanic, and knowing the impact the trade has had on our family, it was great to hear in-depth details regarding the programs available.
I had the opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area at their job site 485 Normandy in Oshawa. Growing up and attending school in this neighbourhood, I’m honoured to volunteer a day to help families build strength and stability through affordable homeownership. We learned how much work goes into these builds, but also had the chance to speak with a Habitat family directly on how their project impacted their life.
When this project is completed, there will be 50 stacked family-sized townhouses for families in need of a home. Alongside my fellow Directors from the Durham Region Association of REALTORS, we are supporting Habitat for Humanity Durham as one of our Charities of Choices this year.
Every Habitat home and community that’s built alongside future Habitat homeowners, volunteers, and partners changes the lives of parents and children. Their homeownership model plays an important role in helping families create a foundation for a life with more choices and opportunities. By mobilizing communities, keeping housing affordable, and giving families a hand up in a time of need, Habitat for Humanity is helping build a more inclusive, better Durham Region for everyone.
