Our practitioner will assess and diagnose and provide the proper treatment that is needed.
Sleep is essential to having a successful recovery. On average adults should get anywhere from 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
As you fall into deeper stages of your sleep. Your muscles will see an increase in blood flow. Which means more oxygen and nutrients that will aid in recovering and repairing muscles.
Whether you’re dealing with a bone injury a strain or a damaged tendon getting proper rest is the key to a fast recovery!

Gait scans can provide useful information about how a person walks and can show pressure points that can help determine underlying issues. Being able to identify these issues help our doctors to determine the proper treatment and be able to provide you with custom orthotics. Low back, feet, legs, can all be an issue coming from the way you walk. Custom orthotics can help redistribute the pressure through the foot to help you give you the proper support that is needed.

By having a healthy mind, you can have a healthy life. But what can you do to have a healthy mind?
Start by creating a healthy everyday routine.
Get enough sleep! This is crucial as it gives your body and brain need time to rest and recover. Aim to get 6-9 hours of sleep every night. Go to sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning.
Eat healthy. Limit all your unhealthy foods and eat more nutritious meals. Eating healthy lowers the risk of a lot of different diseases, it boosts your immunity and strengthens bones and can help you maintain a healthy weight.
Exercise regularly. Dedicate 30mins to 1 hour a day to exercise even if it’s only going for a walk. Exercising even a couple days out of the week will improve your mood and energy levels throughout your day. Regular exercise also promotes proper sleep which is crucial as mentioned.
DRINK WATER! Keep yourself hydrated at all times. Drink about 2-3 litres of water daily. This can help you maximize your physical activities; it can help your mood and keep you energized.
RICE not rice
Let’s talk RICE! not rice but RICE
RICE is a simple yet proven method of self-care for minor injuries such as sprains or strains.
Rest is essential in healing this is what any doctor will tell you, whether you are sick and recovering or if you have sprained your ankle. You will always hear your doctor say, “Get some rest”. When it comes to an injury it is best to rest the injured area for 48 hours if possible or at least try and minimize the movement.
Ice the area! You should aim to Ice the injured area within the first few hours to help rapidly reduce pain and inflammation. Ice for 20 minutes at a time as frequently as every hour. Do not place ice directly on the skin as this can cause a burn. Instead, wrap it in a towel or cloth.
Compression. Wrap up your injury! But do not wrap it too tight as you still need your blood to circulate. If you feel the affected area throbbing then this could be a sign that it is too tight, just unwrap and do it again. Compression can help reduce swelling and movement. The less movement the better and the faster you will recover.
Elevate your sore body part above your heart level this can reduce swelling pain and throbbing.
If the pain persists or has not improved, it will be best to seek medical attention as it may not be a minor injury!

Acupuncture has evolved to become a successful and very popular form of treatment. It involves small thin needles being inserted into the skin using a bit of pressure and heat at specific points throughout your body.
When performed correctly by a professional, acupuncture is regarded as a safe alternative to other treatments or medications that might not work for everyone. There are very few side effects and acupuncture can also be combined with other forms of treatment.
Call us to book an appointment with our Chiro and see if acupuncture is the right treatment for you!
Head and neck injuries are the most common type of injury sustained during a car accident. If you ever find yourself in a car accident, remember to also get yourself checked out. Although you may think or feel you have not had any injuries, that may not always be true. It doesn’t hurt to get it checked out, but it can hurt later on if you don’t!
Call us today to book an appointment.
