this post is for you, a few things you should know...

1️⃣ maintenance — you will need to get your roots done anywhere from every 4-12 weeks depending on the technique you choose

2️⃣ at home hair care — crucial for everyone, you need to continue to add moisture back into your hair, start with doing a mask once a week

3️⃣ toner — i always recommend doing a toner every 4-6 weeks, this doesn’t only cancel out any unwanted tones but also adds shine & hydration back into your luscious locks

•when shampooing your hair & you feel as that it’s not lathering before reaching to add more product try adding water first!

•we achieved this look by doing a balayage babylight technique, darkening her base colour & a fresh tone

•remember: when looking at inspo photos take a few seconds to stop & analyze, look at some of the tones within the hair ♥️

i’m all about embracing your natural colour 🙌 .. why?

1️⃣ looks most natural — it’s a given that working with what you already naturally have will look best

2️⃣ less maintence — the demarcation line of your roots will be way less noticeable as it starts to grow out

3️⃣ less damage — when lightening your hair you will be causing less damage on your hair because the lightener can get to work & doesn’t have to lift the colour off your roots first

I know some of you find your hair is “mousey” or you just dislike your hair colour but in reality it’s inevitable & it’ll just keep coming back lol

& yes even if you have some natural sparkles I still like to embrace it!

transitioning into your own natural roots ✨

my beautiful client shown in the photo was colouring her hair herself every 2 weeks

this is our second time doing babylights in her hair, we are working with her natural sparkles that come through & by giving her a seamless blend at the root she was able to wait almost 8 weeks. we will continue to add babylights into her hair to soften her natural roots coming in

patience is key 🔑 , the more of her natural root she gets the more blended the look will appear

• there are important factors to consider if you’re planning on going darker

• 5 things you should consider before colouring your hair ⬇️

1️⃣ DO NOT REACH FOR YOUR BOX COLOUR
pro tip: especially if you have blonde or lighter hair, this may leave you with a very muddy uneven colour

2️⃣ Commitment – is this something you have truly thought about and are ready to commit? This isn’t just an impulse decision your making because you saw your fave celebrity go darker. ps. remember a lot of them can be wigs

3️⃣ think ahead – are you someone who changes your hair as the seasons change? are you wanting to go lighter in the near future? maybe try adding some lowlights

4️⃣ lightening – going back lighter will be more of a process & can take a few appointments to achieve your end goal

5️⃣. maintenance – if you’re going much darker than your natural hair colour be prepared to come in every 4-6 weeks for a root touch up or a solid colour in some cases. If you have lightened your hair before this may take a few times to achieve without colour fading due to your hair porosity
