With the amazing rising steam from the Geothermal pools of the Yellowstone, this cliff caught my eye among the ever busy Grand prismatic spring.
š, New years countdown day 4/16
Today's selection is from the not so icy peaks of the Stawamus Chief. Echo is as always looking tip top. The photo around him needed a bit of cleaning but all pretty basic stuff. More contrast and better subject separation from the background.

2: Previous edit/ Raw with a crop and exposure tweak.
I really like what I was going for here. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to work the focus on my camera quickly yet so everything that should be in focus is fuzzy and everything that shouldn't be is clear as day. Overall a pretty cool photo.
For the remix, I focused on retaining the colour in the sky and narrowing the focus of the viewer. I think it's a marked improvement over my edit from before.
š New years countdown and recap day 2/16
I captured this shot a few days after a blizzard had run through Riding mountain.

It was one of my favourite photos when I took it. Now all I can think is how heavy I went on the blue. I am still fairly happy with the composition overall and applaud brand new photographer me on the framing between the trees.
On the re-edit, I dropped the amount of smurf in the temperature bars and focused on separating the subject from the background.

I'm wrapping up the rest of the year with a quick walk down memory lane. I'll share some of my favourite or most impactful images from the last year. I will also re-edit some more dated pictures and post a before and after to demonstrate how my editing has progressed since I started in 2021.
Today's selection is from the chilly Christmas season of 2021. This is one of the earliest examples of bokeh I could find where I used it semi-properly. The image is still super busy but I was ecstatic at the time š
In the second image, I tried to update the edit a bit but I'm not quite satisfied with how it turned out. Still very busy and I couldn't quite pull the eye to the bright needles on the branches. Better get practicing!
Evenings in the mountain air.
šļø River valleys and mountain peaks. Not a bad combo.
š«¶ The mountains are forever my favourite.
Impossible to ignore the beauty of the Rockies along the ice fields parkway. I grabbed this one from right off the side of the highway without even getting out of the car. Not ideal but that's what timelines will do to a fella š.
š Girls trip.
Wanted to do an appreciation post for my two favourite travelling companions. Thanks for putting up with the constant stops because I saw a leaf blow by or a rock with a crack on it.
š I am now selflessly accepting donations for helicopter rentals š.
Got to see this bird touching down while walking the dogs. Was just fast enough on the draw to grab the shot. š«
Twisting and turning past mountain peaks.
With the sun rapidly setting I snapped up as many photos as I could while we snaked our way through the ice fields. This is one of the last ones I got before the sun fully set.
The long road to adventure.

Take a look at the before and after.
I remember the moment I took this photo very clearly. The sun was setting and we were starting the drive from Jasper to Emerald lake. This absolutely stunning view came into frame and countless more followed. Thanks entirely to my camera and me our journey took a lot longer than expected.
Stuck daydreaming about elevation and glaciers.
Winter is fully in swing and I'm all about it! A throwback to peak covid and empty trails in the .
A colossus of concrete.
The Confederation bridge spans 12,900 meters across the frequently frozen Northumberland Strait. Giving it the distinction of being the world's longest bridge over ice-covered waters.
Building off my Street photography experimentation I present for your consideration two nearly identical edits.... exciting I know š¤£
I have been slowly building a small portfolio of my portraiture. Would you guys want to see that on my current page or on an alternative portraits only page? Anyways here's a shot from one of my favourite shoots so far. More to follow.
Decided to try my hand at street photography and the streets of Fredericton painted with a golden sunset are not a bad place to start!
