As most of you already know, we here at Shear Bliss Hair Studio went back into lockdown as of 12:01am today. We would like to thank all of our clients/friends & family for their continued support through these trying times ❤️.
All appointments that are cancelled due to the shutdown will be honoured , and held in sequence of cancellation . At this time we will not be booking any appointments going forward, but will be adding any requests for an appointment to a call back list for the time being .
We will continue to offer curbside pick up ( porch drop off if in the area) if you are in need of any products , or would like to be added to our call back list you can dm us or email [email protected]

Masks are becoming mandatory inside public buildings. If you are now required to wear one while working it’s a good idea to get outside during your break to take your mask off and get some fresh air.

You guys I get it! My hair gets matted so bad everyday. It takes me 15 minutes to brush out the rats nests, and not to mention this heat. I need a hair cut real bad!

I’m getting more and more requests every week for me to go mobile. People offering their kitchen, garages and back yards and a space for me to do their hair.

I miss you all so much, I miss having a purpose, a reason to get out of bed everyday, the conversations, challenges, relationships, creative outlet and knowing that I’m going to be able to pay my bills.

Every time I get a request like this my heart sinks into the pit of my stomach. I hate saying no, I feel guilty. I stop and consider it for a moment because the extra money would really help.

But I can’t and it’s not because I don’t want to. I can’t allow myself to be a catalyst to covid-19. Of course we would be careful and use all the recommended PPE.

But what if? What if I went to someone’s house who is unaware they are about to become sick, they have the virus just not showing any symptoms yet. The likely hood of their house being sanitized the way a salon would be is very small. Despite me wearing gloves, mask and a visor I happen to pick up the virus. And because I don’t get sick or show any symptoms I continue go into homes, bringing the virus with me, unaware that I may be leaving it behind for you and your family to fall ill.

I would absolutely hate for that to happen, and the guilt that I would feel knowing that I was the cause of spreading such a fatal virus to even just one home would be far worse than the guilt I feel saying no to at home hair cuts.

I’m here for you. I can offer suggestions, give advice or even just listen. And I have no judgement towards anyone who has asked, taken their hair into their own hands or even has had an at home hair cut by someone other then their family. We are all doing what we think is right so I do not judge.

I know things are getting a little hairy and hard to manage and I might be a little late to the game for some of you but here is my “what not to do to your hair during a pandemic” guide.

▫️Don’t touch up your own greys. I repeat. Do not touch up your own greys unless you have talked to me first and I am able to offer a suggestion for non-complicated hair colours.
▫️The box colour in the haircare aisle of your supermarket isn’t your friend. And remember this: if/when your roots turn orange instead of brown or blonde, nobody will ba able to save you until I’m back in the salon! It’s just not worth the risk.
▫️Consider temporary root touch up sticks.
▫️Don’t cut your own hair. Remember when you were 7 and you cut your own bangs and it didn’t go great? How many hair cutting classes have you taken since then? If your answer isn’t at least 50 classes, your not ready to cut your own hair. Just wait, I’ll be there for you as soon as I can.
▫️Don’t use drug store shampoo. This risks causing breakage, damage, and extreme colour fading.

🐶This is Benjamin, this guy has been keeping me company while in quarantine. He’s been my reason for getting out of bed some days🌈For those who don’t know him he is the biggest cuddle bug ever🥰so he also the reason I have spent lots of time on the couch. Once he gets all comfy on your lap it’s so hard to put him down and do anything else😇
One of little Bens favourite things to do is come to work with me 💇‍♀️He can’t wait for day’s that he can spend getting all the love and cuddles from anyone who is willing to give them💕
