Our Story
In 1962 Thomas Laracy Senior started doing personal income taxes for his fellow co-workers during his lunch hour, while working at Massey Ferguson. Due to the rapid growth of his clientel, he decided to move the business to his basement and had family and friends assist him during tax season.
Thomas' son Bruce Laracy saw potential for even more growth and took over the business known as Laracy Tax, moving it to its first and current location at Charing Cross Street, in Brantford, Ontario.
He built the business up to over 10,000 clients with offices in Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catherines and many in Brantford. Eventually, after many years of success, Bruce decided to simplify and scale the business back to concentrate on his hometown core.
In 2004, Michael Laracy, the current owner and Thomas' grandson, started working at Laracy Tax and has continued on in the Laracy tradition of providing experienced staff with quality service at a great price. Michael has expanded the business' services to offer not only personal Income Tax but also Bookkeeping, Payroll, and Consulting, leading the company to change its name from Laracy Tax to Laracy & Associates.
