Located along the banks of the Grand River, the Six Nations of the Grand River is the most populous First Nation in Canada.

Acceptable Items:
• appliances such as stoves, microwaves, refrigerators (including bar fridges and wine chillers), air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers
• furniture such as sofas, couches, desks, chairs, tables, rugs, patio furniture, bedsprings, mattresses, bed frames
• large fixtures such as bathtubs, toilets, sinks
• other household items such as water tanks, bicycles, barbeques (without propane tanks)
• carpet rolls and under padding (materials must be rolled and bundled in lengths not to exceed four feet)
• any other large articles which would normally come from a household

This program is only available for residential properties. Residential dwellings which do not currently receive curbside collection are not eligible. Residents are entitled to two collections per year (from January to June and from July to December). A maximum of five items may be collected. The fee is $25 per collection

One of the worst things that can happen in the winter is having your pipes freeze, would you agree?

HomeDepot.com has some great tips on how to avoid frozen pipes:

1️⃣ Insulate pipes located in the attic and crawl space using pipe insulation

2️⃣ Seal or caulk any cracks that might let in cold air, especially places where pipes run from inside to outside the home, such as dryer vents or water pipes.

3️⃣ For any outdoor faucets with cut-off valves, be sure they are closed and the faucets are drained.

4️⃣ Protect outdoor faucets using faucet covers throughout the winter months.

Be sure to alert a trusted neighbor if you'll be away more than a few days, and ask them to check periodically to check that nothing has ruptured.
