A little history about tea here
In the mid-19th century, tea was an important drink in Britain. However, all the tea was imported from China, which had a monopoly on tea production. The British East India Company, which controlled trade in Asia, wanted to break this monopoly. They decided to send a Scottish botanist named Robert Fortune to China. His mission was to secretly gather information about how tea was grown and processed. By learning these secrets, the British hoped to grow their own tea in India and reduce their reliance on China.
Fortune disguised himself as a Chinese merchant to blend in and avoid attracting attention. He shaved his head and wore traditional Chinese clothing, allowing him to travel through the tea-growing regions of China. During his time there, he learned about the different types of tea plants and the methods used to produce tea. He even managed to smuggle out seeds and plants, which he later brought back to India. His efforts played a significant role in starting the tea industry in regions like Assam and Darjeeling.
Fortune’s mission was risky, but it changed the tea trade forever. The British East India Company was able to establish tea plantations in India, which helped them control the tea market. Today, Indian tea is famous all over the world. Robert Fortune's adventure reminds us how curiosity and bravery can lead to important discoveries.

New tea flavour! Vanilla Lavender Bundt Cake
This decadent blend of sweet vanilla and floral lavender inspires the vision of a quaint bakery surrounded by lavender fields. A timeless and romantic flavor combination that fills you with comfort and whimsy.
The black tea base creates balance and synergy of flavor with the airy lavender notes and warm vanilla. Together these flavors are robust and enchanting. The inviting sweetness of vanilla allows the heady bouquet of ethereal lavender to bloom. This time-honored flavor adds creamy layers that flow through the cup, like icing melting over warm cake.

Here’s a Scottish caramel pu’erh latte. Pu’erh is more coffee like in taste than most tea, due to it being a fermented variety!
Maybe you’ve never heard of pu’erh or maybe you’re a tea aficionado! Either way let’s talk about some of the potential benefits of this unique tea.
Pu'erh tea offers numerous benefits, including aiding digestion, reducing cholesterol levels, and providing antioxidants that support overall health. Its unique fermentation process also contributes to its distinct flavor profile and potential probiotic properties, promoting gut health.

Why is white tea popular? Here are 3 typical reasons people choose white tea.
1. Delicate Flavor Profile: White tea is known for its subtle and delicate flavor profile. It is the least processed among all types of tea (white, green, oolong, and black), and as a result, it retains more of its natural flavors. The taste is often described as light, sweet, and floral.
2. Low Caffeine Content: White tea generally contains less caffeine compared to black or green tea. This can be appealing to individuals who are sensitive to caffeine or prefer a milder stimulant effect.
3. High Antioxidant Content: Like other types of tea, white tea contains antioxidants, such as catechins and polyphenols, which have been associated with various health benefits. These compounds may help combat oxidative stress in the body and contribute to overall well-being.
Incoming! Picking up this delicious treat of a tea tomorrow!
I love buying teas that taste like a treat, I don’t always want to make something like a crumble, pie or French toast but I’m always down to drink something that satisfies the craving. As a bonus I’m skipping the sugar, carbs, inflammation issues I get. However, I do believe it’s important to treat yourself sometimes. Try out the new Maple French Toast tea and let me know if it satisfies.
Or check out our blueberry pie green tea, okanagan peach oolong, caramel apple crumble or vanilla chai and let me know which treat tea is your favourite 🥰

Feedback came in within a few hours of tea going out to a new customer. I just love how our tea can be such a soothing experience ❤️
This is the tea I tell everyone smells like the store Michaels! Make a lovely spiced tea with it or use it as a potpourri and simmer on the stove to infuse the scent of Christmas all over the house! I add orange peel to the pot too. *Remember to keep an eye on the pot if you do simmer for the smell!
