We've just wrapped up our in-person training session, Manager Development West! From honing essential managerial skills to fostering leadership excellence, our participants are now equipped with the tools they need to lead their practices with confidence and success.

At Eye Recommend, we provide these training sessions to ensure that every practice owner and manager in our network feels confident in leading their teams. By equipping our members with the knowledge and tools they need, we help them achieve their practice goals and deliver exceptional patient care.

She also conducted surveys of our network to discover what practices are doing across the country to implement sustainability initiatives in their practice.

Last week, our trainer, Joyce, visited Dr. Hopkins & Associates Optometry in Ontario for some in-office training and team building.

On new builds, they use the items, materials, or resources they already have stored to build what we need, while still creating the vision they want to display. NTE West is just around the corner, and we are shining a spotlight on our wonderful, local vendors. Today, we are featuring Farming Karma.

✨ Farming Karma is a local family-owned and operated business known for producing exceptional beverages using high-quality fruits. For over 30 years, Karma and Kuku Gill have grown fruits in Kelowna, earning a reputation for producing some of the finest fruit in the Okanagan Valley. Inspired by their parents' passion for agriculture, their sons Avi Gill and Sumeet Gill, along with Avi's wife Binny Boparai, aspired to continue the family legacy. Together, they established Farming Karma, focusing on giving back to the community while creating healthy and delicious products.

🍃 Farming Karma has many sustainability initiatives that are in line with Eye Recommend’s direction towards a brighter future. This includes using a special air knife technology in their juicing processes to significantly reduce water usage with water-efficient technology, donating fruit pumice leftover from juicing to local farms for cattle feed to prevent waste, and ensuring all products are packaged in recyclable material. Farming Karma also prioritizes working with local vendors, in order to lessen their environmental impact. Their emphasis on environmental sustainability aligns closely with our theme for NTE West to think globally, act locally, and live sustainably. Farming Karma's biggest accomplishments include winning Sobey’s Innovative Product of the Year award and supporting the Do Good Initiative to support local education institutes and non-profits, strengthening community ties.
