Jodi Costello — celebrating 20 years at Cottage Country!

“When I look at pictures from 20 years ago I am thrown back to a simpler time. It amazes me what we all did, how little we started off with and most of all to see everyone’s passion for it. It really was a small family business and we all from owners to staff were a vital part of that business, taking equal pleasure in seeing the business begin to grow. We relied on each other so much that when I got married and went away for my honeymoon, the whole business had to shut down at the same time. I still laugh over that to this day!

Over the years I have seen the business grow, see us move to a larger facility, add more trucks on the road and go from mainly Ontario to now Canada Wide. Through it all, the Scholtens family has surrounded themselves with incredibly talented & hard working people and it has been awesome to see everyone’s hard work pay off. I still recall a time when we celebrated breaking a yearly sales threshold. 20 years later, that same annual sales record is broken on a monthly basis! Growth like this does not happen without great leadership. Dave and Zack are leaders by example, which contributes to a great working environment.

The relationships that have been cultivated over the years with vendors, customers and especially fellow employees are also so valuable to me. I consider myself incredibly blessed to be a part of Scholtens' 20th anniversary.”
