✅ When you see a truck on the road, give the driver a wave or thumps up
✅ Be courteous when sharing the road with a truck driver. When passing a truck, be sure to signal, provide enough room ahead of the truck, and be aware of a truck driver’s blind spots
✅ on social media and encourage others to do the same
✅ If you have opportunity to speak to a professional truck driver, thank them for this hard work.
This National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we are saying 'thank you' to the millions of professional truck drivers who work tirelessly to deliver critical goods. Join Ippolito Transportation in celebrating truck drivers by sharing a message on social media using the hashtags and Thank A Trucker. Highlight a special driver in your life or tell your friends and colleagues why you appreciate truckers!
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), was founded in 1998 by the American Trucking Association. NTDAW is a widely recognized opportunity for those to express gratitude to the nation’s professional truck drivers. It is a seven day event to celebrate truck drivers and recognize their dedication and hard work.
Truck drivers contribute to the transportation of goods and the smooth functioning of our nation on a daily basis. Billions of tons of freight are transported across the nation, involving long hours of committed service, challenging weather conditions, and roadwork complications.
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is Sept 15 to 21, 2024. It's a time to honour all professional truck drivers for their hard work in one of the nation's most demanding and vital jobs. From everyone at Ippolito Transportation, we want to thank all the drivers out there for their dedication.

Summer vacations are ending, and schools will soon be welcoming students back to the classroom. In the coming weeks, commercial drivers can expect roadways to have school buses on their regular routes and children walking and biking to and from school.
Here are some Back-to-School Safety Tips for truckers:
🚸 School Zones. No matter where you’re heading, school zone rules and speed limits must be followed.
🚌 School buses. Truck drivers know more school buses means more traffic, but drivers won’t just encounter school buses in school zones. School buses traverse city streets, back roads, rural roads, suburban neighbourhoods, and even highways. This means a truck driver can come across school buses at any point on their route and should plan accordingly.
🚗 Parked Cars. Children can appear seemingly out of nowhere when they run out from between parked cars to cross the street. Drive slowly and keep your eyes active to scan for movement not just on the street and sidewalk, but between parked vehicles as well.
Safety Is Everyone's Concern. From everyone at Ippolito Transportation, we wish students a safe return to school.
Happy Labor Day!

Safety Is Everyone’s Concern! Wearing a seatbelt is not just a recommendation; it is a legal requirement. Seatbelts are proven to save lives.
Not only do seatbelts keep you secure in your seat, reducing the risk of being thrown from the vehicle during a collision, they also significantly reduce the severity of injuries, in the event of an accident, by restraining your movement and distributing the force of the impact across your body.
Truck rollovers are particularly dangerous and a seatbelt will keep you in place, preventing you from being ejected and increasing your chances of survival.
Wearing a seatbelt is a simple yet crucial action that enhances your safety on the road. As a truck driver, your well-being and that of others depend on this fundamental practice.
Buckle up every time, and make it an unwavering part of your driving routine. Stay safe!
Here at Ippolito Transportation, our motto is Safety Is Everyone’s Concern.

This message is to provide advance notice to importers of fresh fruits and vegetables that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will be implementing temporary import conditions for U.S. romaine lettuce again this fall.
This temporary measure is intended to mitigate the higher risk of E. coli O157 contamination of romaine lettuce grown in the Salinas Valley, California, during the fall months. Similar measures were implemented in fall 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
From September 28 to December 20, 2024, importers of romaine lettuce and/or salad mixes containing romaine lettuce will be required to comply with temporary additional Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence conditions. During this period, the CFIA will require importers to submit attestation forms and Certificates of Analysis to confirm that the romaine lettuce does not contain detectable levels of E. coli O157:H7 if the lettuce was grown in the Salinas Valley. A Proof of Origin will be required for U.S. romaine lettuce products that are from areas outside of the Salinas Valley.

Our Story
In the hard scrabble 1930’s Carmelo and Filomena Ippolito realized their dream of starting over in a new country and launched a wholesale fruit and vegetable business in Hamilton, Ontario. From the humble beginnings of a vegetable stand and a single delivery truck, a vertically integrated group of companies has been spawned, focused on produce. At its roots, the group of companies continue to be family businesses with the fourth generation of Ippolito’s active in the various entities. However, the strategy of owning the network from field to processing to transportation and distribution, coupled with an international footprint has given the group the scale to deliver complete solutions to customers in the complex supply chain that is produce in the 21st century. Today, the Ippolito group of companies move millions of tons of produce across North America in the pursuit of making healthy eating easy.
