With the year drawing to a close we wanted to take some time to recognize those staff who have helped us to weather the never-ending challenges of bicycle retail and have gone above and beyond to the benefit of others, our Teams, and customers. They are our unsung heroes... our Super Domestiques!

ATTENTION : Shimano Crankset RECALL.

Shimano Cranksets effected are the following models : DURA-ACE FC-9000, FC-R9100 and FC-R9100-P and ULTEGRA FC-6800, FC-R8000, produced prior to July 2019.

To help you navigate this recall before you bring your bike to the shop... please take a look at your crankset to check the production code (two letters, see image).

This production code is stamped on the inside of the crank arm near the bottom of the arm (see image). The affected models are pre-July 2019 production and have the following two-letter production code on backside of the crank arm where the pedals are attached: KF, KG,KH, KI, KJ, KK, KL, LA, LB, LC, LD, LE, LF, LG, LH, LI, LJ, LK, LL, MA, MB, MC, MD,ME, MF, MG, MH, MI, MJ, MK, ML, NA, NB, NC, ND, NE, NF, NG, NH, NI, NJ, NK, NL,OA, OB, OC, OD, OE, OF, OG, OH, OI, OJ, OK, OL, PA, PB, PC, PD, PE, PF, PG, PH,PI, PJ, PK, PL, QA, QB, QC, QD, QE, QF, QG, QH, QI, QJ, QK, QL, RA, RB, RC, RD,RE, and RF.

If your crankset has one of these codes, drop by any GEARS location and our Technical Teams will submit a claim to Shimano for crankset replacement. Please note, you do not have to have purchased your bike from GEARS.... we're here to all all cyclists who have been effected.

Your patience during this entire process is greatly appreciated.

Heads up Folks.... Shimano has just announced a volunteer recall on their 11 Speed Bonded Hollowtech Road Cranksets (Dura-Ace and Ultegra)
This does not affect ALL sets, but if you are in doubt, please drop by our Technical Service Department and speak with our Techs. They will provide you with appropriate information and guidance.
Please note... as this has only just been announced, your patience and consideration is greatly appreciated as we begin to sort out details, methodologies and protocols with Shimano. Thank you.

We've recently seen a bit of an increase in bike theft these past few weeks... this includes wheels, seat posts and other components, not just the entire bike. Please ensure you make things difficult for thieves and lock up you investment securely.
