Had to congratulate Julian, my nephew, for completing yet another Ironman Canada, here in Pentiction, British Columbia
Huge congratulations to all finishers on Sunday's awe inspiring race, I especially want to say how proud and happy I was to put a medal around the neck of Julian Lynch, my nephew, who came here with his family from Ireland
Fun to think that I completed the first IMC in Penticton (August 1983) and Julian completed the last on Sunday (August 2024).

It was a great, no, memorable feeling yesterday in Penticton BC to put an Ironman Canada 2024 medal around the neck of my nephew Julian Lynch who came over with his family from Ireland for this event.

Despite rain there was a wonderful time held by all the tiny tiny and not so tiny athletes in the “KIDS TRI” this morning. Sister Madonna and I were asked to give out medals to the intrepid rain drenched finishers! What a joy. Sr. M is drying out and relaxing at tri friend Andrea’s house where she is staying and readying herself for the major inspirational role she will be playing tomorrow. I had the joy of cheering on and welcoming grand nieces Siena and Sofia, and now have some time off (from Sr. M responsibilities!) to have a large, happy and anticipatory lunch with Julian, Linda and Sofia.
In short I am very happy to be an _ancient_ part of this marvellous world right here, and now!
Blessings to all Ironman and woman competitors tomorrow! Let the energies unfold as they should for each athlete and their loved ones!
My Nephew, Julian Lynch. is over from Ireland specifically to do the 2024 Ironman in Penticton. It will be his 13th or 14th! I am proud of Julian!
Julian, his wife Linda and their 2 adorable children, are looking for a place to stay in Penticton, as close to the the lake as possible, for 4 nights - this Thursday till Monday.. please let me know if you know of anyone who could put this lovely family up.

Across the road from my modest 3-story condo.
Welcome ‘home’ to Penticton again, Ironman Canada! May the Force be with each of you tomorrow, Sunday, August 28, 2022, race day!
Love from Dyane Lynch (solo female finisher 1983) and Marianne Mildenberger (female finisher 2011)
Must work on this! Relax-on the Ego!
Canmore calls, the Bow Valley beckons!
Am I crazy or what?! ok, I have registered in the 'Sprint Duathlon' at the August, 2017 Penticton 'Multisport World Championships'.
Please send your energies our way but don't look out for me on August 19th, why? 'cos, I will be at the back of the pack, 'minding my own business', just trudging along, slow and steady-like, but yet holding precious personal memories .... Yep, my motto on August 19th will be, as always, to 'never ever give up!'
I look forward to being back in Penticton again and to spending some time with Steve and Jean King. We will be looking out and rooting for Sister Madonna, on August 21st, as she moves to the finish of her Duathlon race. I know that I will be motivated and recharged when I meet up with my ever energetic and ever- TRI ing athletic friends.
Meantime, friends, family, well-wishers .... let's all think and visualize "no smoke, no smoke, no smoke" for these Multisport World Championships events to be held in the Okanagan region this month.
I am dedicating my short 'sprint' endeavour to my son Arran Christophe and to his beautiful new bride Teresa To.
It is a privilege to celebrate Canada 2017 this August! Go athletes Go!
Thank you, Penticton, thank you Volunteers! you all hold a special place in my heart!

Three days after your wedding ...
June 28, 2017
Note to Arran and Teresa
I hope you're not too tired today! I wish, Arran, that you would've taken at least another day off! Teresa, I trust that your two remaining days at work are not too strenuous for you. Just think, working, (your honeymoon postponed til later), is just another way of unwinding from the past few days, weeks, months of planning of and showing up (stunning couple!) at your marriage in BC's Westcoast Wilderness Lodge.
I trust that the thoughts and memories of such a successful (thoughtfully planned and well organized), yeah, truly fun wedding event, in exquisite surroundings, and, get it, with perfect weather, will remain with you both for ever. It is obvious, from being present at your 'destination' wedding, that many people love and cherish you.
Thank you for taking the time yesterday to join Rosemary, Matt and me for lunch back in Vancouver. After R and M left this morning I had a nice long chat on the
phone with Verlie and Bob. We all agree that you both did an excellent job. A very ambitious undertaking! Again, congratulations! Well done! and thank you!
Yes, also thank you for treating me to lovely accommodation in the 'Back Eddy' overlooking the still waters of the Skookumchuk Narrows! Wow! those sunrises and sunsets were amazing! It was great to watch the kids make friends and cartwheel or run and jump happily on the grass and later fun to see them run to discover what was in the cluster of trees near to the cabins. I was happy to have the opportunity, before I left on Sunday, to join Kayla and Nathan on the beach. We jumped rocks as the tide was going out and we looked for more starfish and orange crabs. It was sort of magic to gently pull up large stones in small pools and find treasures! Also, more memories of sitting on logs about the camp fires and getting sticky with roasted marshmallows. Electronic gadgets like iPhones were not to be seen. 😄
Play, natural beauty, and peace were the 'order of the day'! The walk, a group of us, to the Skookumchuk Narrows was another nice memory, also my early morning runs and meditative moments added to my enjoyment of this amazing weekend.
I still have my envelope with my wedding contribution $$$$s to give to you when we meet.
When would you like to come over to 'Mary and Piotr's/ Vancouver condo for a swim, a meal and catchup chat? It would be great to share thoughts, stories and pictures....
You both, together with Billie and Rocky, make Canada Day 2017 the more special to me!
Until soon,
Love Mom Lynch
