Exciting news! We have now Community Connectors for Southwood.

Community Connectors work with The City of Calgary's Community Social Worker to make a deeper and greater impact. Together, we work as a team to bring more programs and services to animate the community. We are also hoping to deepen our relationship with more neighbours, partners and local businesses. Our Community Connectors are Amanda Weston, Karen Richelholf and Teresa McLaren.

We certainly want to honour our seniors in Southwood. That is why we are oranising a Seniors' BBQ on June 6th. We are hoping that we will have not just the BBQ, but some conversation and fun as well.
At the end of the event, we are hoping to create a 'SENIORS' MANIFESTO' sharing the aspirations and key asks of our seniors in the community!
If there is anyone who would like to volunteer to support in designing the event, that would be awesome!

COMMUNITY NATURE WALK IN SOUTHWOOD!

I have heard that there are many home-based business owners in Southwood.
I would like to explore if it is helpful that we come together once?
Perhaps, it might be helpful for us to learn about marketing, fundraising etc. from one another. May be we can plan to invite someone to come and talk to us about marketing ( just sharing ideas:)). Or may be we can plan a big summer sale event...

Hello Southwood!
I am excited to share with you we are hiring Community Connectors in Southwood. Those who live in Southwood with ideas, time and passion in community building, please consider exploring this opportunity.
I am sure you have questions. I will be happy to meet with you to provide all the answers that you need. If I get a very good response (which is my hope), I will then hold an info session for everyone together. If not, I can meet you individually at Tim Hortons. But basic info;
Hourly pay - $26.00 an hour
Maximum 20 hrs a month.
After the initial meeting, if you are still interested, you can submit your applications. Subsequently, an interview will be held to select the community connectors.
I am here to help!

Language should never be a barrier for people wanting to connect and feel part of the community. This is the reason we are bringing ESL classes to the community.
Those who will benefit from this program may not be on Facebook:) But, please help by spreading the word. If you have any suggestions for me to promote it, they are certainly welcome. Also, if anyone needs some print outs to drop off for your contacts/networks, I can certainly get them.
